yep my cousin just bought an ls1 with it on it.
That thing sit low to the ground. He has to avoid water puddles, speed bumps and pot holes.
oh and who ever installed it did a crap as job.
The oil return line was drilled in to the oil cap which created pressure and cought the engine bay on fire with the oil. Now it just sits their after only 2 weaks since he bought it.

They suck. You hear alot of excuses from people that have them about why they arent running right. Or for some reason they never seem to get all the bugs out  .

number show good dyno number but the track times don't match the dyno numbers

thats the facts but it still make you faster just not as fast

also heavy cars seem to repond better to them maybe more load on the motor spools it a bit faster..... only thing i can think of

It is just like opposition to America during time of war: STS Turbos, either love em or leave em!
You find enough people coming out of hiding just to bash something that is different.

That's the MAIN response of you STS groupies "it's cause it's different!!!" Making it sound like a social outcast that everyone needs to pity and be nice to. Let me spell it out for you. It's not because it's "different" it's not because it's a "new idea." it's because it's a bad idea that works poorly compared to a real turbo, and the groupies can't accept that it's a bad design, and make a load of excuses for why the track times suck. There are tons of things out that are "different"... that one little idea has nothing to do with why people don't like STS, it's because people are sick of hearing about sub-par products.

I am directing these words to you Teufel:
KMNBA. Go figure that acronymn out! I don't have to argue with you, and don't care how you feel. The systems don't need pity... Maybe you and others need it. What difference does it make
how you get boost as long as you can get it. I can practically counter every argument that you can throw up at the setups. Why can't you get a life, a girlfriend, some sense, and just plain old get over IT!

I'm sorry your setup is "different." If it hurts your feelings that bad, i'll start being nicer to STS :(

i think with a large converter it would do well on almost any car...the issue that ive seen is even with decent dyno numbers they have a ton of turbo lag...one gto ran a mid 12@119 through a stock stalled auto...with a 4000 stall converter it would probably run a low 11@120+...this was stock head/cam btw.

The sts isn't a standard turbo, if you were to put a regular turbo and put it back there it wouldn't work at all, just like if you put the sts turbo in the front it wouldn't work. And they make power in the same range as standard turbo kits. "2001 Trans Am W/STS rear turbo = 474 RWHP/520 Torque (running on 7 cylinders, and 7 PSI)" this was at dyno pro down here Teufel and this guys runs 12's at bandimere, so his power numbers clearly match his track times. We can all argue and bs but the numbers speak for themselves.
