  • powerdyne HP on a 98+

Everyone that owns a powerdyne (especially those of you w/ 98 and up). How much horsepower does it deliver? I have been told by FT force that they dynoed a 98+ and got 112 from the flywheel, w/ just the system on, o other mods. Alsohow do you think my ride would run w/ the PD unit, tri-flo, high-flow cat, headers, cia? Could I hold on w/ lightly modded ls and lt1's? Also is it a pain to run an slp lid on the kit?

Thanks for your in put in advance.

    Matt

I think 112 HP is BS. I would love to see the dynosheet. You should ask them for it. I would think more like 60 HP. You will hang with LT1's is my guess. I am guesstimating, i dont know from experience.

112 flywheel hp w/ stock engine/intake/exhaust on 6 psi, I doubt that. That would make about 78.4 rwhp at 70% drivetrain efficiency. not likely to occur. I'd figure 70 flywheel hp and about 49 rwhp. Intake and exhaust mods will certainly help a lot. My main question is how big is the piping on the tri-flow, because the smaller pipe will get you more low end torque and less top-end hp than a 3" would.

With the 9psi pulley they offer I think you can see those numbers.

I thought the 9PSI pully slips? Does anyone on the boards use this pully?

Thanks Guys for all you input. But, I was really looking for those who have the powerdyne unit already, what type of gains they have recieved and the kills that have been handed by those w/ these units? Does the kit come w/ any type ignition or have a lot of you guys purchased different ones? If so which one is the best, and most cost effective? Thanks again for all your guys input it is really apprciative.

I recently installed this kit on my car and had it dyno tuned last week. RWHP was 209/Torque was 264. It showed that my air intake temp was 210 degress which may account for some loss in HP. The intake filter sets right in front of the engine so I hooked the intake tube up to my ram air box with some flexable supercharger tubing and it runs much cooler now. I am using the crane ignition retard device that came with my kit.

Thats some good HP #'s. Do you have anything else done to the car?

Yeah those are some decent numbers. I wonder how a car would dyno with the 6lbs of boost, along with a blower cam, ported heads, and a CR of 10.5:1 - along with all the other intake and exhaust mods? I'd say in the 260s to the wheels.

He doesn't have his website up anymore. But Ed did put 256 rwhp by running 10 psi. with the PD. But the one that Superbird have is very realistic dyno proven result with the 6 psi. So 112 is only possible with 9 psi and not 6 psi.

Thats what I was wondering. I was thinking about the powerdyne. How do you think my car would do with all the mods in my sig along with a good cam. And the heads are milled. Compression is around 9.9:1. I bet I could make some mean HP yes?

I'm running 6lbs on a 98. I've got a lot of other mods on the car also. Basicly every bolt on you can get and a reground SSM cam.

My last N/A dyno before I added the blower was 220rwhp and 235rwtq. I hope to be close to 300 at the wheels on the next dyno and over 300 with the nitrous.

I haven't been to the track yet but it feels like a mid to low 13 sec car. Stock LT1's are not a challenge, I've been doing some door to door racing with modded V8's now.
