  • Knock...ATI??

How can I gurrantee there will be no problems with knock or detonation after installing the ATI supercharger? Will it help if I get the custom tunning? Colder plugs? I always run on 93 premium fuel. Let me know so their isn't any hidden purchases liek aMSD or somthing like that? BATMAN will Bill make sure it will have no problems running on stock internals at 9-10 lbs of boost?

Personally, i would go and get a dyno done. That will tell you a lot about what is happing in your engine. If your car is pinging, its going to show on the dyno. If you bring the car to Bill's shop, he can make sure there is nothing wrong with the engine. If you plan on buying the kit and slapping it on yourself, you have to take the time and be responisible enough to make sure your engine is in good working order. No one can be responsible for your car except you. However, Bill's part in all of this is making sure that the kit we realease will work on any 3.8 series II RWD engine with very little modifications. Will you need an MSD... not sure.. we haven't gotten that far yet. We are still working on the PCM. I am posting a new update today.

I don't understand why we would need ignition sytems on our rides. I've spoken to ATI and local shops and all of them state that it would be unneeded to have an MSD or timing retard installed. Especially if the car has stock internels and only running around 10 psi. The kits for the 3.8 mustangs from ATI have no ignition aids, and at the 11 psi kit they offer a FMU/larger injectors and an optional 3 core intercooler, w/ no need to play with the pcm. I understand that to get the greatest and safest amount of power we should ahve our PCM's refigured. But taking on another few hundred ofr ignition aids, seems preety expensive. But please all those who ahve opinions or information that may reverse this thinking let me know?
P.S. RYan I'll definitly have my car dynoed before install, and I'm probably having someone instal it for me if it si to complicated.
      thanks
      Matt

I have talked alot with TOM at supersixmotorsports about my cam lately. He says the V6 Mustang's have a really good computer that is really easy going on what kind of cam you put in them. I am guessing it is the same way with the supercharger. I think our computers are a little bit pickier on what we do with them.
