  • My powerdyne is fried. Can I do This? please help me.......

k guys, my powerdyne head unit i think is fried everytime i push the clutch in it sends way to much air into the motor and it stalls out(might be a bearing)...i've had the thing for 2 years and it has never done this before..... so heres my question, i want to disable the blower (for now) just so i can drive normally for a while, can i just get a different size belt, slap it on and completely by-pass the supercharger pully? Sounds ok to me, but will the motor be getting decent amounts of air, cause the air has to go through all the tubing plus the blower to get to the motor, but the blower won't be moving....will airflow be ok? or do i have to revert back to stock setup? which would be hard cause i think i'm missing some parts....

    any ideas?

    thanks

It should be fine to run it without the blower. Although your car will be going through more piping to get air, it should be ok.

sweet, at least that works out for me, now finding how to fix the head unit is a different story......do u think maybe its just the internal belt inside? or would the blower not work completely if that faulters?

      screwed up situation i'm in...

ah well...it comes with the territory..

      thanks

Hey Perry, is the blower still pushing air in? If it is, the internal belt should be ok. Powerdyne states that the internal belt should last bout 60,000-70,000 miles, similar to a timing belt's lifetime. Make sure if it is the head unit that is bad, I never heard of a blower sending "too much air" Usually when a blower goes bad, it won't push enough air. I would call powerdyne to see if they can help you out further. I don't have their number but I'm pretty sure you can get it at there website www.powerdyne.com I think. If you have to send it off to them to get it repaired, expect about $400-$500 service fee. I've had my Powerdyne for a little over 3 years and have no problems with it yet "knock on wood". Hope this helps, later.

Its going to be almost 5 years since I had mine and I haven't had any problems with it. But that's unusual for it to be blowing to much air. Usually the internal cog belt is the only thing that tends to break on this SC. But if it does break, PD say you can still drive it like a normal car.
