My dad owned a Buick Regal GS with a stock supercharger, and his 3.8 had some absolute punch when it would kick in.
Since the Camaro has the GM 3.8, I'm wondering if I could pull a supercharger from a trashed Buick GS and install it on my car ('99 3.8 with no modifications).
I'll admit I'm not really much of a mechanic (I can hang parts okay and ain't afraid to rip into stuff like replacing headers or AC equipment, but I know about squat on the internals of an engine), so if this is a really vapid question my apologies.
The dealer I purchased the car from (who owned a Regal GS he had modified and an Impala SS) thought the supercharger wouldn't work on the Chevy because the "Chevy engine won't handle the added stress."
Anyway, if anyone has any info on how- or even if- strapping a Buick supercharger to the Camaro would work, I'd appreciate it!
Thanks,
Pete
