Would it be wise to build up my FI system first and then do my exhaust, rear end (LSD, and gears), and then my subframe connectors and the such (i have a convertable mind you). Or would it be a better idea to go with the basics first and work my car up the a FI system. Im just worried about over stressing parts on my car if i do the FI first, and then having to replace stuff when i don't have the money to.

Stick with the basic stuff first. Wait until you've done most of that before you get FI.

Yea, start on the basics first, then once everything is done, go with the blower or turbo. My plan involves:
Suspension first - The car has be able to handle the power.
Brakes - Increased power = increased speed which means you have to have brakes that can stop the car from higher speeds.
Engine mods - The engine needs to be able to handle the power (not really needed if you're not planning on going over 9PSI)
Then once you've done everything else, add the blower/turbo.

I disagree. Put the blower on there with an exhaust system if you have the money!! 2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph

i have an auto so would it be a worth while investment to change out the touque converter first since i dont have a clutch (i know our auto tranny is shisa but its all i got). but basically what everyone is saying is I need to redo my exhaust first, which i was planning on doing at the same time anyway. I was kinda worried about destroying my open differetial, is that not a real problem? As for structural improvements i think im gonna get the subframe connectors before the FI system and add extras later. If anyone thinks this is not the way to go please tell me so i dont hurt my car to much. thanks for all the info so far.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

the reason why they are saying you dont necessarily need exhaust done is because you can just run open downpipe..
thats what redcat and tiago do.
hell... when i put a turbo on.. i might just totally get rid of my exhaust and run it open downpipe.. nice weight reduction96 Camaro M5. Exhaust. Gauges (fuel pressure, boost). Blower.
You'll want LSD if you don't have it, after you start overpowering the right tire all the time... :D But it's not essential.
If you run it at the track and start hooking pretty hard with it, then the SFC's probably make sense to do at some point since you have a convertible.\'98 A4 Camaro v6->v8 conversion, and STS kit next
v6: 13.6 Powerdyne, 13.2 150 shot, 13.8 120 shot, 14.3 85 shot, 15.7 stock
v8(na): 12.18@113, 392rwhp
Moderator on www.mtfba.org and www.frrax.com (Road Race & Autocross)
Car pics, TN Region SCCA

the biggest thing i tell people whenever they plan to add power to any car is to take care of teh chassis first.
it always looks cool when you have enough motor to do a huge burnout, but if you can't hook it, all you have is a car that can do huge burnouts and get laughed at in a straight line.
the biggest things you can do are to get a posi and a bit more gear, control arm relo brackets, box your stock control arms or buy after market, and look into a good aftemarket torque arm(random tech has a cool one)
traction and gears are what makes et and wins races.
