I was noticing the "little bit" of excitement about batmans kit, and I had a question. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I read some posts and talked to some people and I remember reading that 9 psi from the powerdyne kit was too much boost, and created blow-by, after some time. I also read a letter from a v6 owner in hot rod who had the kit, and said it basicaly destroyed his motor, in just a few years, even with good maitnance. So my question is how is 10psi of boost going to do with the stock engine for any length of time?

I know that it is intercooled but I don't think that that will save your engine. Its still 10 pounds of boost.Turbocharged and intercooled.
17psi(oops), stock fuel pump, no FMU
http://www.cardomain.com/id/phoenix64
Video: ftp://ftp.pfabrication.com Assorted car ****: TurboCamaroFull.

Nope, no problems at 9psi.
The problem w/ the powerdyne kit at 9psi is major belt slippage. The supercharger runs off the flat side of the belt & will slip at 9psi.
Our engines can handle 9-10psi w/ stock internals2001 75th Anniversary V6 Pewter Firebird w/ Chrome Wheels, T-Tops, & Y87
Mods: Free Ram Air, !Silencer, Holley Filter, Full 3\" Hooker Catback, 3\" Cat
Best time: 15.095 at 90.00 MPH with a 2.127 60\'

Take the total life expectancy of the engine and subtract a couple thousand miles. That is... maybe down to 163K instead of 165K. It all depends on how well you maintain it.Matt
2000 Firebird

FullThrottleV6.com

Maintence is key:
Beat on your car and not look/listen for problems = Major issues
Keep your ride clean and well treated and keep careful eyes on your entire car = A fast/reliable ride :D

I was originally going to put a blower on with no other mods, and a few people on here set me straight pretty quick... Apparently you need to open up the exhaust. Shirl and Virus both had crankcase pressurization problems until they removed their exhaust restrictions.
The problems you have heard about blow-by are probably similar. Do you know if those people who posted have the exhaust side done, or were running with the stock s-pipe and/or manifolds? Opening the exhaust is a MUST with super charging!! You have to remember, your forcing more air in, thus trying to get more air out through the stock exhaust will be a BIG bottleneck. Without opening exhaust, the presure will have to go somewhere.... it's going to stay in the crank case until it can find a way out. You can get away with stock manifolds, but a good cat back with a bypass pipe will give good sound and release for the pressure.

I think headers & 3" exhaust w/ the highest flowing cat & muffler you can get your hands on are a must for supercharging. Maybe you can get away w/ out the headers, but your going to make a lot of power by having them.
If you get rksport headers, remember that the y-pipe sucks, and you will need to replace it.
You could have a shop custom make one. Or grab the one over at www.drgas.com. They make quality parts, and claim a lot of scavenging on thier y-pipe.2001 75th Anniversary V6 Pewter Firebird w/ Chrome Wheels, T-Tops, & Y87
Mods: Free Ram Air, !Silencer, Holley Filter, Full 3\" Hooker Catback, 3\" Cat
Best time: 15.095 at 90.00 MPH with a 2.127 60\'
