theres a web page that shows an engine swap from a v6 camaro to northstar v8, i called and asked, b/c i was curious of the costs, and they said 22k.
        ....and thats w/ no 4wd.

You could get an MTI 422 installed for 1k less than that. OUCH!

22k is alot, must be a new motor from factory. the northstar bellhousing is almost a bolt up to the 60* trannies. just include motor mounts, engine harness & ecm. a good tranny rebuild also ;)

for the skyline motor, go for it. Since you get the tranny also, just need to worry about tranny cross member & mount. also need to consider, if manual, where will shifter stick out. If auto, will you need custom shifter housing?

get engine measurements done first tho.

All that to make your car slower than a stock LS1 Z? One the iron block 2.6 is heavier than an LS1, it's also a fair bit longer. Two, the turbo's are on the wrong side. That's the main reason Nissan never made a left side drive version, because the steering shaft would have to run right where the turbo's are, your car would be much the same. Forget about the Skylines complex computer controlled awd system. It only engages all four wheels when it detects slippage, otherwise it behaves as a rear drive car. Youd also have to get completely different piping for almost everyhting.Stock skylines run mid 13's, that's it. You can get a crate LS1 for close to that price and be at the same or better performance.
