Haha, well I put the NGK-tr6 plugs on and there was no change with how it ran. I just cant figure out the problem soo I am goin to have someone look at it monday. Having a clogged cat wouldnt cause that much trouble though, would it?

I had a clogged cat on a 84 firebird, it would not run over 25 mph. So, ya In my opinion, it sure could..........

Since you don't live in Calif. Why don't you just take it out. And use O2 Sim. to prevent codes.

Besides, free flowing muffler works great for Force Induction. If you could stand the noise that is.

So if you're running an intercooler, would it be better to put the IAT before of after the intercooler?

Well on my car I took the cats out and used O2 sims, then instead of messing with the IAT sensor and the discharge tube I bought a sim for that from RKsport http://rksport.com/product/p_010963010/view_detail

Did you use the throttle body that came with the kit? Your problem almost sounds like you have a clogged cat. Or fuel/firing problems...

Did you change out the wires? Do you have any of them crossed over and set the wires on the wrong cylinder?

You need to take some pictures for use to see how you ran everything.

Theres no reason why you should be having these problems. This is a simple plug and play device. Unbolt 4 bolts, mount, run the belt, Hook up the suction side, and hook up the blowthru side, FMU, Plugs...

Are you using the LS1 Maf that came with the kit?

Guys, he bought the infamous JOHN_D Kit.

Yea, I used everything that came with the kit including the throttle body and MAF. Its still running super rich and I cant figure out why. But Im almost positive my cat is clogged. It is going in monday to a local shop so I well educated mechanic I know can help me out. I will most likely change out my cat either way now. But having a clogged cat wouldnt cause it to run rich though, would it?

If you're running the LS1 maf, you'll have to use a maft or a mini-afc to adjust the signal. Or load up a LS1 maf table into your pcm. Hptuners wasn't out yet when I had my setup going. So I couldn't fix the table in the pcm, which would have been the ideal solution.

I just ran it in speed density (unplugged the maf) because I never figured out the right settings for the mini-afc. It ran really good that way!

But it did set a code for the maf. Not a problem unless you have to pass emissions though.

Give that a try and see if it doesn't act totally different.

Do you have the hptuners package?

If you still have the stock cat, that thing, and the s-curve behind it, is probably the most restrictive thing in the whole exhaust system.

Umm, I think that using the LS1 MAF is causing it to run rich. You need to get a MAFT+ to get it to run right, then you need some headers and a highflo cat.

JOHN_D put some foam around his AIT and zip tied it somewhere.

Are you seeing ANY SES lights? If so head to AutoZone and have them check it for free.

Alright, I will try unplugging the MAF. And, no I dont have the Hptuners. I am getting ready to order a high flo cat, still deciding on headers, but I will try that out tomorrow. I did have an SES light yesterday but then i unhooked the battery along with changing the spark plugs and have not got it again.

Couldn't he just use the stock injectors, the fmu and the 9 pound pulley along with the 'shaved' TB and get that thing running safe and pwerful?
Was that pulley so small that it was making the car run lean under high boost?

I say this because it seems like even with stock injectors and a 6/1 ratio FMU that the wide band powerdyne runners around here all seem to be running rich.

(I want to get the 'upgrade to 9 psi powerdyne' sorta nailed down. I have not started a specific thread on that topic so I am hitching a ride on this one. Example: it sounds like even the stock fuel pump can handle quite a bit but many people say to get a W255 right off the bat. But they were rich before and even running richer after.)

I think some people were seeing 100 psi fuel pressure too. But I never saw more than 80 psi with that fmu, and running a kenne-bell boost-a-pump too.

I was peaking at 12 psi with that pulley, unless I intentionally left the belt a little looser. Whenever I was going over 9 psi, I was leaning out on the top end. That was with the 24 lb injectors too.

So I never had the problem of running rich on the top end. Just a little rich at idle...

Alright now the car does seem to be running great without the MAF plugged up. It does still sputter every now and then which im pretty sure is being caused by the cat. And though I could tell a big difference in performance, I have already thought about running higher psi than I am now. I would like to see the 'upgrade to 9 psi' thread that you plan on. By the way, Thanks guys for all the help with the supercharger, much appreciated.
