  • Who's has the best turbo kit?

I am going to turbo my 3.8L and I am looking for opinions and suggestions on what brand of kit to buy.

I have been following the cartuning project that 3800performance is coming out with but they still have a few months.

I've heard about FFF but everyone that I see that buys one sells it w/in a few months???

    What do you guys think?

well it all depends on your situation, are you looking to get a kit built up slowly over a couple months? weeks? year? or do you want it right away and setup? if the second option is what you want, i would say just get one of the fff kits for sale off this site instead of buying one from fff (because takes long long time to get parts) that way you can have your setup right away, if you are not happy with the performance or anything, you can just upgrade them at your own pace. on the other hand if you plan to make it a project over the span of, say, a month, you may just want to read what others have for a setup and ask questions based on their setups to see what you can come up with. OR better still you could always goto a performance shop in your area and ask them to fab you up a setup.

Actually Tiago told me he has 7 pipe kits in stock so he could ship them pretty quickly.

I think FFF kit is better than Cartuning. For one thing,it's already intercooled and better priced. It looks much easier to upgrade the turbo.

I think Teufel H. has the best Turbo set up. Shane's comes in second. By the way, who has Shane's Turbo kit?

The Cartuning one isn't going to be ready for a few months yet. I"ve been in conversation with the guy from Cartuning(they wanted to use my car as the prototype), and they're only half-a$$ed into the fbodies. The fwd GP's et al are where the money is at. I've been ignored for about 3 months now so i'm going a different way.

I'be been ignored by cartuning too so I think I will get the FFF kit. You can simply upgrade the kit by replacking the tubo with a slightly larger one and some of the other parts as well correct?

no offense against any of the guys above ( I Havent seen shanes), but njp98 has the best turbo setup. Unfortunately it is probably about twice the cost of the others as well IF you were to find a shop that had the ability to copy it.

I have Shane's Turbo kit. Its a really good setup, but as goes for any parts, its starting to get old. I'm sure it looked much better on his car than it does on mine. Foward swept headers are definitely the way to go though, makes so much more sense. Over the next year or so as I finish off the car and upgrade the components, I think you all will be pretty impressed on how nice this kit looks, and performs.

You should be able to run the same time as him or even better if you continue to stick with it.

Can you take pics and post it here?

hey not to stray away from oreoLT1.....I dont know when the last time you guys spoke with cartuning performance but 3800 performance told me that all cartuning is doing now is perfecting the kit....so i would assume the prototype and things are done for the most part

                            Hi Guys

For those of you who are following this, remember Cartuning has my car. So just to be clear on Cartuning, let me say that the kit is still on track to being finished. Has it taken longer to do than expected? Obviously Yes. Cartuning is not going to release the kit until its absolutely finished. The only person who is suffering through this is ME! Because I haven't driven the car in months. But I'm patient and know what I got myself into. I have total confidence in Cartuning because of the excellent work they have done on the W-Body platform. Not one of the W-body kits have been returned or complained about. Check Grand Prix forums and find out for yourself. For those of you who have been waiting for it, rest assured it will arrive soon enough.

                            Thanks
                            Horde
