Can anyone tell me what the fixed ratio is that came with the FMU in the RK Sport powerdyne kit?

8:1 would be my best guess.... but it should have came with an adjustable one though..1995 Black Firebird Turbo 3.8L
Custom FS Headers | AiResearch T04B | Tial 38mm | Bosch BOV | 30\" FMIC | 2.75\" IC pipes | 3\" Exhaust w/cutout | Flowmaster 80 | Walbro In-Tank 255LPH | 180* termo | Autometer Boost + A/F (phantom) | 36# GTP injectors

6/1
You can also tell by looking at your boost gauge and the fp gauge while under boost.
Example: At almost 6 psi right before I shift the FP gauge has gone from 49 psi to about 83 on average. This = 5.5 (boost) x 6 = 33 more psi of fuel pressure.

Before my FP gauge took a dump mine was pegging out at 100 PSI, so my fuel pressure could have been even higher than that. So my ratio must be higher than 6:1.Modifications:
headers, throtle bod spacer, flowmaster, high flow magnaflow carsound cat, powerdyne sc with 2.9\" pulley and by-pass valve, walboro 255 fuel pump, spec stage 2 clutch, and HP Tuners

what was your FP before going into boost condition?

It idles at about 40-42 and at normal accelerarion usually around 50 PSI.
Oh yea I am still planning on sending you those pictures its just hard to find the time but I have so much work to do on my car that I plan on calling in sick one day this week and I will be able to take care of it then.Modifications:
headers, throtle bod spacer, flowmaster, high flow magnaflow carsound cat, powerdyne sc with 2.9\" pulley and by-pass valve, walboro 255 fuel pump, spec stage 2 clutch, and HP Tuners

hmm...that is normal FP. I was sure we had 6/1 in our vortech fmu. hmmm. I wrote it down in my notes but...can't seem to find the entry for it. Iknow it is posted in a thread several times on this board, though...back several months or so.

Maybe since the kit was designed to be used with a stock fuel pump the FMU would be only push a 6:1 ratio because that is all the extra fuel the stock pump could provide? Because, before I put the walboro 255 in I was only seeing 80 PSI of fuel at full boost. Or maybe RK Sport just supplied me the wrong FMU.
Out of curiosity how many kits do you know of from people you talked to had the FMUs that came with the 2 male ends, mine had the 2 male ends. Just wondering if RK sport made a batch of powerdyne kits with the wrong FMU.Modifications:
headers, throtle bod spacer, flowmaster, high flow magnaflow carsound cat, powerdyne sc with 2.9\" pulley and by-pass valve, walboro 255 fuel pump, spec stage 2 clutch, and HP Tuners

the two male quick connect ends doesn't make sense to me. it should be one femal and one male. unles the just want you to cut the rubber fuel line and use clamps rather than the quickdisconnect fittings.
Male end on fuel rale...replace with female on from fmu....female rubber hose to male end on fmu...no problem. Or two femal endss...on to the fuel rail and the other to the federwell METAL line that has the male end. (this just replaces the stock rubber line) odd way to ship a product.

I agree, I just cut the hose and replaced the end that was wrong connection with a new quick connect.Modifications:
headers, throtle bod spacer, flowmaster, high flow magnaflow carsound cat, powerdyne sc with 2.9\" pulley and by-pass valve, walboro 255 fuel pump, spec stage 2 clutch, and HP Tuners

My hose fittings were wrong too. (FMU) The guy gave me a recalibration kit w/ my fmu, but no instructions, and I don't know what the ratio would be if I installed it. Besides it does not work :( I'm putting in a 8 to 1 and hope my fuel rails dont explode. :eek:Jessica :)
Kansas: There\'s no place like home...99 Firebird Blown/6lbs, Eaton w/3.42\'s CI headers Z28 Exaust
CAI, #36 injectors Intense PCM

You should be fine, I just upgraded to a cartech adjustable FMU and before that I was pushing over 100PSI of fuel pressure.Modifications:
headers, throtle bod spacer, flowmaster, high flow magnaflow carsound cat, powerdyne sc with 2.9\" pulley and by-pass valve, walboro 255 fuel pump, spec stage 2 clutch, and HP Tuners

Jessica...save that FMU. other than being careful when you take it apart to switch the ratio it is not hard. (gasoline everywhere...do it outside)
If need be I am sure they have instructions on the website of the manufacturer. He may have set it below 6/1 because at 6/1 with a 6psi pulley we tend to run rich.
