• 6# install tomorrow

I'm installing tomorrow. Very excited. I got the NGK's that will go in first.

A few questions though:

Throttle Body Mod... is this required? Highly suggested? A good precaution? If it is a good idea... what kind of plug should be installed?

The tool needed to disconnect the return line on the fuel rail... if you don't have that.. what do you use?

Is there a part number for the vacuum T connector? What does it look like? Something I can get at Pep Boys? One way check valve... same question. The reason I ask is because I got the kit slightly used... and I can't find anything that fits the description of these items. Please advise.

Where exactly is the ICM? I need to tap into the wires and I'm not exactly sure where it is... I'm sure I could figure it out with a little more research, but I figured since I am posting anyway.. may as well ask all my questions.

Thanks in advance for any help. I hope to be supercharged by tomorrow... or at least Monday morning.

Mcaanda... I haven't even started yet, but I can already appreciate your guide. It is much more helpful than any other documentation I have read about the install.

I'm psyched... but will probably post a few questions during the install... so if you are reading this and know a bit about the install... please check in tomorrow!

This is why I am starting early on a Saturday so I can spend 2 full days if need be.

I'm rambling... gotta get some sleep... I feel like a kid at Christmas.

Just get a tap that is going to fit in the hole, and ream it out until the plug that you are installing is good and tight. Dont use pipe thread, there is allways the chance that it will end up in the motor. Not worth the chance IMO.

Go to your local Bike store, they are going to have it there. Also, any of the local auto shops will have them as well. They are about .50

No pt # for the "T." They are all over the place at Pep Boys.
As for the valve, just go to the auto store, they are going to have that as well... not much dinero in those, so your OK.

Ingition Control Module: It's behind the coil packs, and that is where you are going to want to splice the wire for the TRC-1. there is a bolt that is going to hold it to the plate that you are going to set the coils onto. DONT DONT DONT bend the connectors if you take this thing off as well. It's going to cause you more headaches if that happens, just ask Travis currently.... :(

GOOD, Im glad that there is SOMEBODY out there that is looking at that thing. Took me forever to get it up and running.

E-mail me at mcaanda@hotmail.com if there are any ?'s that you end up with during the install.

GOOD LUCK!!

Well.. it may be a little early for my new name... I got a lot done this past weekend, but I am not Supercharged yet. I had to revert because the risk of not getting to work today loomed threateningly. At any rate, this weekend coming up will (hopefully) be the complete install.

Problems included not having the proper connections to split the vacuum line. It seems as if there are 3 different sizes needed. The Throttle Body connection is large, the line ordinarily connected to it is slightly smaller and the connections that go to the FMU are smaller still.

I got the NGK plugs in, the FMU in (but not connected... although it is ready to go minus the vacuum line connection) I modified the bolt to allow clearance for the new belt. Installed (and then removed) the K&N because the elbow that I have doesn't line up with it so I had to put in the SLP again.

So... Left to do:

A little Vacuum line connecting, pulley swapping, bolting in, and ICM (Crane Retard) work.

The tapping into the wires is what I am most concerned about... but again... next weekend. I learned a lot about the install... now I know the pieces fit.

Thanks for the help so far Mcaanda, I may need to email you again before this is through!

Thanks!
