Hey, may be a dumb question, BUT my sc is on the way home from rebuild and I was thinking. If I have boost most of the time, how do my heat ac vents change position, from like def, to ac, to heater vent positions, if the door runs on a vacuum? Will I still have vacuum at idle? Just curious. Saturday this weekend is the big day, so I hope someone is around. (If it gets here in time) otherwise it's a week later.

Oh I forgot, would the regular painted headers from pacesetter be better than stock manifolds? Or will they rust out quick. All I can afford, and the sc is coming home soon. Should I just wait till I can get real good ones? Any headers would be better than our exhaust manifold. No it won't affect it all. I've ran my SC with the AC on at a 112 deg S. Calif. weather. The idling does get rougher though and you do feel a slight lost of power.
The heater is even better. It gets even hotter quicker than w/o the SC.

Mighty THor is right about the A/C
As for the pacesetter headers. I was impatient when I got mine and I bought the first set that came available for my 2002. They are just painted and are not really rusting that bad at all. They have been on the car for a year and have been through a michigan winter before I moved to Florida. It is what you want to do, if you have the patience to wait and save the money I would go with the ceramic coated because they will last longer in the long run. But if you want them now and you are not concerned about the looks in your engine bay get the cheaper uncoated ones.

Buy 'uncharged's' stock tubular manifolds and Y pipe that he took off when he installed the headers. If he still has them. Those and a catback are a great combo.
AS per the AC and the vacuum controlled cimate control valves:
You wont be thinking about turning on the upper or lower AC vents when your foot is 'on the floor.'
Your engine will be under vacuum while cruising...not boost. you will see...yes young jessicawalker...you will see. soon you will install your jedi-charger and your journey towards the darkside will be complete.

Hee hee, ok master greyman. I was about to order pacesetter jet hot coated headers, but I'd rather go cheaper. I don't know who around here would put them on. Some guy just told me he spent 15 hours on a Trans Am with v8. Had to move the steering column etc. He's a muffler shop guy. Said he'd been in the business 20 years. I said I had a v6. He told me he'd look at it next week. He said he'd never do another 8. I heard there were issues with the tublular ex. and the ac being in the way on 99 earlier models. I did find them from GM for 247.00. Both. But no y pipe, unless I use the stock one. I would hate to get the headers, and stare at them in the box not being able to put them in. I refuse to buy another part, and sell it on ebay because of that. I'm tired of losing money on this.Jessica :)
Kansas: There\'s no place like home...99 Firebird Blown/6lbs, Eaton w/3.42\'s CI headers Z28 Exaust
CAI, #36 injectors Intense PCM

ahhh...that sounds familiar about the AC and the different stock manifolds. (log vs. tubular) Too bad. I would definatly do a lot of research here before buying headers. Go back months and years in this seach engne (intake/exhaust forum) and you will see what I mean.
Some of the different makes of headers REQUIRE modification even though they are made for your car.
Some fit better than others...some come with ****ty gaskets, some come with weak flanges.... Once you have some brand names...research them well so you can be better prepared.

I know that this dosent belong here but when I put the headers on my car it took me about 4 good hours of working with changing plugs then a trip to the hospital (my partner pulled his back out and fainted under the car)but you dont have to move any boxes or anything, just be sure to wear gloves, for an exhaust shop it is pretty straight forward... goodluckhttp://www.cardomain.com/profile/blackfbird_98

Thanks to you all. I'm just going to wait until I can find the place, and have the time to do it right with the right headers.. So if anyone gasps that I dont have headers with a sc, let them gasp. And if they do gasp, I'll hit them up for an install Jessica :)
Kansas: There\'s no place like home...99 Firebird Blown/6lbs, Eaton w/3.42\'s CI headers Z28 Exaust
CAI, #36 injectors Intense PCM
