To make a long story short, I had some body work on my car which included installing new battery cables. Anyways, on my way home from picking up the car it seems as though they accidently pushed the coolant cap of its track.... so on the highway coolant blew up in my engine bay, knocking my serpentine belt off, and at the same time slitting my oil feed line. I had the car towed to my house. The car maybe ran for 10 sec with a slitted oil line, i think there was still a little oil getting to the turbo because the whole line wasn't completely cut. Anyways, so i had coolant and oil all over the place.
When i got home i undid the exhaust clamp and noticed some carbony sludge that was like tar. It wasn't from oil flooding because i had that happen with my old turbo. There wasn't lots, but enough to make me wonder wtf. Anyways, i'm thinking it might be old oil that was in the my y pipe from the old turbo (The new turbo has about 70 miles on it since the old turbo).
We cleaned everything up. Used some carb cleaner on the turbo (exhaust side)to clean up some of the sludge. There wasn't too much of this sludge, and we're pretty sure that it isn't oil cause it doesn't smell like oil. But again it's really black, some of it is liquidy. We know it's carbon for sure, but not sure y it's liquidy. Anyways.... it's seaping through the cracks (where the bolts attach the two pieces of the exhaust chamber) slightly. Not sure exactly wut it is.
We took the car for a rip. My idle has been rough for awhile now(still can't figure out why), it might be running rich, not sure. But we hit about 6 psi and it pulled nicely. The BOV was shooting off and all, one problem is that I don't hear the turbo whining anymore. Do u think that might be from the sludge or carb cleaner we used? I really liked hearing it spool up, but not sure why it went away. It does spool though because we we're making some nice boost. I wonder if that sound will eventually come back, it used sound great. I can turn the turbine freely by hand no problem without any obstructions, it spins normal just like new.
Anyways, this sludge has me worried a little bit, not sure wtf it is or y it's doing it. Do you have any ideas? Is it my rough idle causing some problems, cause it still sounds like i have a cam in my car. It doesn't look the same as when it was flooding with oil, so i don't think it's that.
Sorry for the long msg, i'm just not sure what to do next.
thanks, i apprecaite any help.

p.s. I am running an FFF kit, and i do have a leak in my headers. Before this coolant/oil leak, i could hear it spool just fine.
