  • Can irridum plugs be throwing off my idle?

I put NGK irridium plugs in when i installed me turbo. And it seems that ever since my idle has been rough. It sounds like i have mean cam, i'm running out of ideas here. Do you think it might be the plugs? Wouldn't I be throwing a code for plugs if that was the case?

any help would be appreciated .

    thanks

    What's the gap?

Did you remove your MAFT screen?

That can make your idling extremely rough and possibly throw you a code.

I took my maf screen out like 4 years ago, back when i installed the Powerdyne. So i know that's not it. I don't think you can gap irridiums, i think they are pre-gapped.

I just want my car to run normal again.

      thanks for the reply.

if a plug is cracked, it can.

hmm.... well i was thinking of changing back to copper plugs this weekend to see if that brings my idle to normal. Maybe i'll just check each irridium to make sure they're not cracked.

But if any of my plugs were cracked wouldn't the throw a code?

          thx again.

It's weird though. The car runs fine at higher rpms, just at idle it sounds like I have a cam in there.

you might check for tightness I had a plug come a little lose once and it caused a rough idle, but at higher rpms and hard throttle it ran ok.
