I think Sunoco makes 95 and 100 octane pump gas.

Probably more cost effective to use water or alky injection. It's something I considered doing since I have nearly 11:1....but just isn't worth it.

Now why is that exactly? You have some toluene in the gas from the pump already. Toluene is not very reactive at all, so it is not going to break down fuel lines like ethanol or methanol.

Toluene is nto going to clean your fuel injectors any better than gasoline. Fuel injector cleaner contains detergents that clean injectors.

I'm starting to think that an engine will burn just about anything...

I was talkin' to some guys that use acetone... paint thinner... alky.... denatured alky... rubbing alky??? Why? Anything that helps clean or improves performance?

good **** but not worth it when you think about how much has to be mixed in to get a proper mix into the 104+ oct range. price is justa bout of racegas already.

Most cost effective = inject -25 F winshield washer fluid (40% methanol 60% water and a trace of blue dye) only when your might be getting detination example at over 5 psi boost. Then your not burning high octane fuel when you don't really need it. Injecting the washer fluid into the air stream at 10% of your fuel flow might be a good place to start.

If you need a little more octane (all the time)than you can get at the pump, try 1st: 1 gal methanol per tank, 2nd: 2 gal methanol per tank, 3rd: 2 gal methanol per tank and 1 gal xylenes per tank, 4th) 2 gal methanol and 2 gal xylenes per tank, 5th) Buy race gas

Buy the methanol and xylenes in 55 gal drums (paint store?) Toluene can be subsituted for xylenes.

Don't want to carry methanol and xylenes in your trunk on a trip? Try Torco Accelerator (I'm not sure or the chemistry of this product).

I have not found a cost effective way to increase 87 octane to 93 octane (except maybe the water/methanol injection above).

Have I spent way too much time thinking about octane? Yes!

in some states you can't pump race gas directly in a car. a local gas station has cam 2 but you can't put it straight into a car... it has to go into a container that is not connected directly to a fuel line.

i don't make the rules man...

but i agree, that is straight up wack. virginia has also outlawed open or even connected nitrous bottles, remote bottle opener or not... in fact, a remote bottle opener might get you in more trouble than if you just had the old school knob

But compared to a bottle of NOS additive that costs $9.99, 2 gallons of this stuff at $5/gallon will give you A LOT more than the "up to 7 point increase" NOS advertises!

well, with gas prices reaching 2.7 for 91 octane in california, this seems like a good alternative.

thought almost all octane boosters only ended up giving about a 1-2 max octane boost.
