• 1999-'02 Supercharger is now available

I was going through some info today and found that the 1999-'02 RK Sport supercharger is now available. Here is some of the info that they list for this kit -

Superchargers are a safe, effective and reliable way to get big horsepower and torque gains from your Camaro. While they may perform the same general function, not all superchargers are the same. Unlike the competition, who rely on planetary bearing or noisy gear drives, the Powerdyne unit utilizes an ultra strong, internal cog belt to drive the impeller. The key to the impressive horsepower gains is the curved-vane impeller. this design is similar to impellers used on high output turbochargers except it allows boost pressure to arrive as low as 1800 RPM, and build all the way to redline. The Powerdyne system reduces typical supercharger whine greatly producing the perfect "sleeper" Camaro. Also in comparison to the competition's units, there are no oil lines to tap into the oil pan, or external pumps and coolers. Everything necessary for an easy installation is supplied including all brackets, mounting hardware and detailed instructions.

Our price is $3849.99 and you can save $100. during this month's double online discount special (ends on the 31st).

rk is way too overpriced, and i wouldnt trust their choice of superchargers. look at the one they are selling for the pre 98s. its a one and only. a sole survivor of its kind. i just dont think thats a smart investment. (for the pre 98s that is)
are these on rk sold anywhere else? if they are, then i might look into them.
6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.

If I remember correctly (this is going back a few years) I believe the RK kit is manufactured by another company in CA and sold under their name.

yes, you are right. and now that company no longer exists, from what i read that is. and that is why i say it is not a wise investment. i might be wrong though. i am by no means an expert on this.

nino that WAS the case but RKSport took over the mfgr'ing of this supercharger and they're building kits or are having new kits built. Powerdyne still exists so it is still a serviceable product.

The only issue with this unit is you must sent it off every 30,000-50,000 to have the oil and belt changed and the inside reworked on the headunit. Besides that its maintenace free. Over 6psi we have that slipping problem, but 6psi is good for 80hp on a stock engine so thats pretty good

Thanks Tbyrne, thats a really good price!

that kit has been avail on the rk website for quite awhile now...you can also get it on ftforce.com at or better than that price,so not really much of a savings there. Not a bad kit thought for some of us wanting some extra juice.the kit was made by vector performance out of huntington beach & did go out of business. One of the guys who was an install tech there now has his own company in huntington beach called powertrain dynamics and still installs them occasionally...just an fyi...

I personally wouldn't buy anything from ftforce.com

They are the same company that probably to this day continue to falsely advertise the HPP3 programmer for all years of V6 models. Can't seem to get things straight over there, lol.

Not to be a prick, but that kit is a huge rip off. No to mention the intake on that kit is complete poo.

Tom you would make a killing if you made your own powerdyne kit and sold it for like 2500 bucks.

Screw Powerdyne. When Magnacharger comes out with their LS1 kit at the first of next year, I want an adaptation of that for our cars. :( Just gotta steal their design and adapt it to mine! :D

I do agree though, Tom you would get major business with your own designed $2500 Powerdyne.

yea Tom he's right. We all know TBYRNE is a quality shop and I feel very comfortable buying products from you. SO I think you guys should custom fab a kit for our V6 cars. Something that wont make the belt slip. You could make lots of money in this design.

TByrne, doesn't manufacture anything. They are a distribution place. Last year when I talked to James he said that he is still going keep making the kit for us.

There is a misinformation about Vector Perf. They didn't go out of business like some people are saying here, James closed it because he wants to spend more time with his 6 year old daughter and work on the family business.
