You should check-out www.zzpeformance.com they make a complete sc kit using the M90. However, it's basically designed for the fwd 3800, found in grand prix's. As magnus pointed out, gtp's have different internals, so i don't know what kind of boost levels you could reliably run in a v6 f-body. To me it would seem easier to get the powerdyne, what for the ati kit, or trying adapting a vortech blower to avoid hood/fender well clearances. JMO.

Our kit uses a Paxton Novi 1000 for the L36. Unfortunately it will not work on the Camaro/Firebird

            A Z28 is an LS1, we have 3800s...

There's always been this one as an option:

            http://www.tbyrne.com/v6/nitrous.html

I'd personally just wait on batman's kit, it seems to be the hype everyone is talking about, and definetely an effective system.

EDIT: Just a question, but does anyone know the reliability decrease of putting the powerdyne supercharger on your car, and does anyone know if it'll take off alot of engine life? I dont want to put a supercharger on if its going to reduce engine life by like half.

The reliability issue is a hard one to quantify. Part A made out of material B, has an endurance limit of C. The endurance limit (fatique life) is a function of the applied stress. At a given stress, Part A has a different fatique life. The more power you are putting to the wheels, the greater the stress on the part, mainly the connecting rods. Engineers take into account a safety factor when designing parts. This safety factor is the yield stress of a material over the applied stress. Typically, the safety factor depends on the cost of failure of the part. For engines, it can mean the reputation of the manufacturer. If you have yet to notice, most of the 3800II engines are going well over 100k miles. Mine has 130k.

The moral of this story is: The harder you drive your car, the shorter the mean life of the engine is going to be. Our trannies are mounted behind V8s so don't worry about the torque, but the insides were designed for 200 hp, 245 lb*ft. Granted you are going to want to use your new found power, but the more highway, easy cruizing miles you have, the longer your engine is going to survive.

Where are you getting this information??? The L36 and LS1/LT1 4L60E transmissions are internally the same. Please be able to back your info up before posting false statements.

yup, you are good up to 450 ft/lbs of torque stock on a 4l60e transmission (according to Yank's website).

bellhousings are different, and the input shaft is different, but the 4l60e's are internally all the same regardless if in a firebird, blazer, or trans-am. Your going to start causing damage to a transmission by getting slicks & drag racing often, that is killer on a transmission & differential.

A supercharger isn't going to reduce engine life a lot as long as your car is well-maintained and you keep it all to reasonable levels.

Running 15lbs on stock internals is not reasonable.

I think he was refering to the 3800 Series II being designed for 200HP and 225ftlbs, not the 4L60E.

Sometimes you have to use your brain when you read. The only way this makes sense is if pvtschultz was saying the insides of the 3800 were designed for those numbers. He was talking about the engine.

The more I read it the more I must agree with Haz.

Though pvt certainly could have been more clear in what exactly he was talking about.
