hey all....im new to the site and just had a few ?'s about the powerdyne kit in rksport.

ive heard that there is sometimes a problem with belt slippage at even the stock 6 lbs of boost. is there anything that can fix this? and also do they make a pully for say....8-10 lbs of boost, and is that amount safe on a 96 3.8l with stock internals. ive done a search for the belt slippage problem and didnt really find anything after 20-30 mins of reading posts.

if it is relavant i have a slp cai, pacesetter headers, 3" borla catback, and a shift kit.

    thanks

Doing the JohnD wrap helps eliminate any slippage plus the groove.

If you need illustration of what exactly that wrap looks like, just email me.

You can order a custom 10 pound grooved pully from www.aspracing.com for 125$. This plus the JohnD wrap (wih is free) will eliminate slippidge.

            Yeah, what they said....

8 lbs should be no problem.

            Headers and exhaust is good.

A fuel pressure gauge and a way to monitor your o2's and your injector pulse widths would be very good too.

When I was running 10-12 psi, I needed more fuel. I did this with a boost-a-pump to electrically overdrive my stock pump. Some people run higher capacity fuel pumps.

OFF TOPIC: How did you monitor your o2's and injectors? Autotap?

Yep, I used autotap for mine. Some people have tied directly into their o2 sensor wires for a/f gauges, but you still don't know what the injector duty cycle is. Autotap reports all that out of the pcm for you.

Look at pictures 9 and 10 on this page.

Don't forget you have to grind/file the oil filter extension too.

The grooved pulley is a big improvement alone. I did the wrap first, then the pulley. They're even better combined.

Did you get my email on that diagram?

Yeah, just the grooves itself on the original Vector Perf. wrap already helps eliminate slippage. But JohnD wrap gives you that nice low end power.

Here's a crude diagram I did for the JD wrap in case anyone needs it. Like JD said, don't forget to clearence the oil filter extension.

                            thanks for the diagram....that helped

is there anything else i should get before i get the kit that dosent already come with it?

and....can you hear the s/c at all with the stock pully....or the 10 lb pully? i know that it says it is internally belt driven, but i was just wondering if it would make that nice whine under higher boost
