Alright I amjust wondering what kind of numbers are done on superchargers. Like I want to know 1/4 times and the power they put down to the wheels. Also I waswondering what is the numbers put down on a supercharger for us (HP and TQ)?

rough estimates are something like 70 - 75 horses to the wheels at 6 psi ..good for a gain of about 1 - 1.5 seconds..around 100 to the wheels at 9 psi good for a gain of about 2 seconds..with all the supporting mods of course12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO
www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com
Best ET: 12.82@103
Best MPH: 104.7
Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC

quote:
Originally posted by Shodown:
1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said.

no. about 70 to the wheels at 6 psi with normal engine. headers or tubular manifolds and full catback is basic supporting mods.
head work and intake (polishing) is advanced mods.

Well I usually see is people with superchargers and put no one has the heads or cam done. Its like people are buy and selling the fff turbo kit the same day and people with superchargers only seem to have basic supporting mods. I like the superchargers sound but I really want to put down some good numbers and I am trying to find a range of numbers I would put down2002 Firbird,
STS GT35mm-61 Turbo, HP Tuners, 3.73,UMI LCAS,UMI Panbar
Nitto NT555R P245/50R16 96v, NGK spark plugs t55, transgo shift kit, Jet servo

well..running a powerdyne at 10 psi John D was able to run 13.6 putting out about an additional 100 horses to the rear wheels..that was with drag radials, headers, exhaust, larger injectors, aftermarket fuel pump, some tuning, and i imagine some suspension work..i believe Tueful is putting down about 350 with his turbo setup..if you want to run 12s or 13s you are going to have to do most if not all of these mods whether you run nitrous, turbo, or a supercharger12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO
www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com
Best ET: 12.82@103
Best MPH: 104.7
Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC

quote:
Originally posted by Shodown:
1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said.

Well I know basic mod setup with the intake, and exhaust has to be done on anything. If I do everything that John D does but also do the engine as well like cam and heads then will it be able to run 12s on a supercharger2002 Firbird,
STS GT35mm-61 Turbo, HP Tuners, 3.73,UMI LCAS,UMI Panbar
Nitto NT555R P245/50R16 96v, NGK spark plugs t55, transgo shift kit, Jet servo

hard to say for sure..assuming you had it tuned correctly and everything you should be pretty close..its easy to tune one power adder and get it to work as it should..when you start doing engine work like cam, heads, etc its a whole different story..id get big injectors..run a powerdyne at 9 psi..with a small shot of nitrous to cool the boost and get you into the 12s12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO
www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com
Best ET: 12.82@103
Best MPH: 104.7
Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC

quote:
Originally posted by Shodown:
1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said.

Interesting.......so just tuning a power adder by itself will be easy but when i add a supercharger cam and p&p heads just basicly redoing the entire block is alot hardy to tune? why is it so easy to get a turbo to the 12s then it is for a supercharger2002 Firbird,
STS GT35mm-61 Turbo, HP Tuners, 3.73,UMI LCAS,UMI Panbar
Nitto NT555R P245/50R16 96v, NGK spark plugs t55, transgo shift kit, Jet servo

even without a supercharger..getting the tuning right after doing all that stuff is hard..thne you have to tune it all to work with a supercharger..i dont know much about turbos..but from what i've heard..better track numbers have come from turbos because they are more efficient and can run higher psi levels..however..they are FAR more difficult to install than a supercharger..and it still requires tuning12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO
www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com
Best ET: 12.82@103
Best MPH: 104.7
Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC

quote:
Originally posted by Shodown:
1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said.

I am think the best superchargertoday would be the powerdyne supercharger from rksport but can it run more then 6-9 psi?2002 Firbird,
STS GT35mm-61 Turbo, HP Tuners, 3.73,UMI LCAS,UMI Panbar
Nitto NT555R P245/50R16 96v, NGK spark plugs t55, transgo shift kit, Jet servo

You mentioned sound. Powerdyne you hear a small whistle from the shaft while ATI makes a loud gear whine. Powerdyne will get drowned by the sound of your exhuast.
As far as number is concern. Ironman dynoed at 312 at wheels. He had heads and Cam done and alot more mods than anybody. SSMS dynoed 282 at 8psi and he had engine done as well.
James Bawkey's 95 Camaro (auto) is stock, down to the exhaust and paper filter. The only mod he put in was the SC, K&N filter, FMU, TR-6 and Kenne Bell BAP. The exhaust was still stock with a stock cat. The car dynoed at 256 with 8psi.
Considering that there was no intercooler used, these are good numbers. Remember a stock V6 (off the showroom) auto dynoes at 148-152 rwhp and manual at 154-156 rwhp. Superchargers does add serious numbers.
