• Custom Turbo Project Almost Done

Hey guys, I wanted you guys to see my turbo project thats gonna be coming to fruision here in a few weeks. It's a custom setup with forward swept headers which will hopefully provide good spin up time for the turbo, a T3/T4 hybrid, as well as allow ground clearence which is an issue for me. (there's no good roads in PA we have the worst ones ever, especially in my crappy little town). I have pictures and parts list on my cardomain site in the profile if you guys wanna check it out. If you guys have questions or want more pics just ask. I just thought ya'll would be interested.

I actually didn't do the piping (yea the biggest part, haha). I found a guy who has a 1300HP Twin Turbo Grand National (a Alc. funny car team owner refered me to him so I assume this guy is top notch) who is very good at pipe work and he did all the fab work. Since I'm only 17 I don't have any experience welding, the equipment, or even the raw time it takes for that kinda work.
And, yea Ian new castle is 40mins north of Pittsburgh and my car right now is located in a town 10mins north of pitt. So it'd be quite a drive, but if your ever around the west side of PA drop me an e-mail and come over and check it out.

That's awesome. Congrats.

Do you think he can mass produce those intake?

I have a T3/T4 too. Wouldn't mine giving it a shoot by doing the same set up as you.

He himself can't mass produce it, but I can definately get you the specs of the parts he made and draw up some blueprints in AutoCAD using the parts on my car. We had to chop the bottom part of the air box/radiator cover to get the intake pipe. We also had to do some relocation like stefen did on his virus car to get the pipe to come up thru the right side. Also if you read in the site the whisper lid I had on there is getting taken off, but he's gonna weld some aluminum up and polish it for a nice lookin lid that can feed directly into the compressor housing. We figured it was easier than making the whisper lid work and we can take advantage of the FTRA kit I have.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm gonna have to get some times real soon. One thing that sucks though is I have the stock goodyear tires on there so traction could be an issue and I'm hoping to get it dynoed as well. About the injectors, I have the HP Tuners software to help me tune those things and hopefully that upgrade comes out to run the MAP sensor from a L67 engine (up to 3 BAR if I'm not mistaken) so I can sell the SFMU and use the PCM to my advantage to help me manage fuel precisely which = more power ,hopefully.

Nice looking setup... definitely the ONLY way to go is with the headers like that. :D

Whoa, 57# injectors  thats sweet. I wanna see that setup some time since I'm pretty close to Warren. Ellik, the car is in Rochester, PA it'll be done in about 2 weeks. If you'd like you can check it out sometime. I'll e-mail you once I get it back. As for him doing it again, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't because I guess it was pretty hard (not as bad as he thought originally) and he's a friend who wouldn't do it for just anyone. However, the system is very easily disassembled so sometime after the end of august or so I'll be going to school at Pitt Main so I won't be bringing my car there (in Oakland it would disappear like a set of rims at a puff daddy concert) and I'll be taking the engine out and having it built. While its there the turbo kit will be just sitting here so we could have an arrangement to fab up another with another fab. guy. Then maybe someone else would like the same thing and we could even group purchase it or something,I'm flexible. Just a thought.
