I just got my tax return and Im gonna buy a brand new powerdyne supercharger from rk sport and I was wondering do I need a intake or kn filter whatever that is or does all that stuff come with the kit also I would like to know do those speed chips work or are they bull like the electric supercharger and if the speed chips do work can I get a link or the name of the speed chip that everyone uses that actually works. Im just about finish with my car's appearance so thats why Im gonna buy the supercharger so my main focus now is my engine and speed so any suggestions on this topic is appreciated before I buy the powerdyne.

supercharger and performance Question

The kit comes with a cone filter and the intake pipes for it.
don't worry about a 'speed chip'. even if they worked they would not be a good idea. (actually a VERY bad idea in conjuction with a supercharger)
Even a brand new rksport kit does not come with everything you need. this is no joke. Plan on extra money for the things you MUST have in order to safely convert your engine from naturaly aspirated to forced induction.
the things you see in my 'powerdyne' section are not 'maybe' or 'should I?' or 'do i have to?' but rather they are things you must do. check it out.

The second half of the page is the powerdyne section. enjoy.
They are the same things you will learn if you start doing searches here, etc, just now they are all in one place.

you could also go for the ati procharger kit from mach performance. Its a much better kit imo since it comes with an intercooler for $4299 and for about 250-300 bucks more you get an injector kit and a tune. This isnt even to mention that you get the awsome supercharger whine with the ati that you wont really get with the rk-sport kit. Give them a call if you want the # is 586-468-6300. The other option you have since you live in houston is to go to tiago and have a turbo kit made for about 3k and will probably get better power under the curve than even the mach kit. remember that centifugal superchargers have very little boost at low rpms and dont reach full boost till peak rpm where the turbo also makes little boost at low rpms but is usually fully spooled by 3k rpms. The turbo is the best imo followed by the mach kit and then the powerdyne. deffinately read up on turbos vs supers on this site to see what you really want and also make sure you have enough supporting mods first (exhaust, gears/diff, etc). as for the chip i highly recomend against it if you plan on FI because it is typically designed for stockish NA cars and will cause knock on an FI car. Now HP-Tuners is a great tool to have since you have complete control over the tune and can get it perfectly designed for you car.
