Thanks for the link here in FI.. though like you and I pointed out, the 27# might not be enough for most FI guys, but would be perfect for a heads/cam or someone running maybe a 100 shot..

I am no 'injector guru' so be warned...
but, If 25# injectors are enough for an engine rated at 340 crank HP wouldn't they be enough for an engine under boost that develops less than 340 crank HP?

I say this after consindering my current mods and their max potential while running at 9psi and that as an air pump the two engines (to me) seem like they would need the same amount of fuel flow to keep up with the air.

I also know that L67's come with 36# injectors but I think the newer ones might have 32# injectors.

I admit i know little about peak injector perfomance or pulswidth, etc. I am just going off basic hp ratings in comparing injector sizes. Perhaps I am way off base becuase i am comparing a NA engine to a forced induction engine in the exapmple above.(?)

Any input is appreciated.

I would not buy new injectors 'just to get rid of the fmu' yet remain at 6psi. I would upgrade injectors, though, in order to increase the psi to 9 or so and dump the fmu becuase i don't want to run around with a fuel pressure of 118.

Because they have 8 and we have 6

of course....See I told you I was an injector newbie.

340\8 = 45 'HP' per injector on a v8
340/6 = 57 "HP" per injector on a v6

I guess I should knuckle down and bone up on injector flow rate calculations. I would have to anyway if I do switch them out because I would be the guy tuning the car.
