If the bov is before the maf sensor that works fine. It's probably even better than recirculating. The only time you really need to recirculate is if the bov is after the maf sensor.

Be careful until you get that upgraded fuel pump in there. You need it at 10psi for sure.
    </font>
I second the fuel pump thing

and yes john, I plan to put the valve in before the MAF.. its prettym uch impossible to do otherwise.. with the tb/maf combo part they all have now.. unless you were to tap your intake.. witch would be nuts..

Hey John, once I get the tuner software what size injectors would you recommend with 10 psi, I was thinking 36lb injectors from a GTP. Do you know if they are plug and play?

I almost positive that they are if you flash the PCM with HP tuners software to handle them.

njp98, I just looked at your site. Nice ride, do you have your 42lb injectors installed? If so how hard was it to program using the software? Also what brand of injectors are you using? Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks alot for the compliment. I have not yet installed and programed the injectors. Actually I haven't even got to scan my stock settings yet. My car is down in a shop getting the final stuff worked out. In two weeks or so the car will be complete. In maybe a week I'll be doing the injector install and program so then I'll be able to tell you. All I've done with the HP Tuners software is scan (the autotap like part of the suite) my friend's cavalier and let me say its really sweet and can log everything. Anyway, I got the injectors off Intense Racing they say they are Lucas. I trust IR, they seem to be doing wonders with the FWD 3800's. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

There are some formulas floating around for hp vs injectors... I don't have the links handy. We might even have them here on the engine tech part of this site.

The injectors should physically fit and hook up to the harness. As far as size, I don't know... You could probably tune the 36's. I would think they would give you plenty of capacity to grow to an intercooled 10+ psi. I know my 24's just can't cut it, even at 80psi of fuel pressure, at the top of 2nd (seeing 12 psi of boost at times...)

As far as tuning, there are multiple opinions on how to handle FI and how to handle bigger injectors. Injector constant is one approach. VE table is another approach. Dinking around with the maf table is another approach (modifying the reported air flow for a given maf frequency). Mafless (speed density) is another approach). I'd start with reading everything you can find on the hptuners board, and maybe the tuning forum on ls1tech too.

I don't have any experience with hptuners yet... The extent of my tuning so far has been maft, mini-afc, fmu, and autotap.

I think the fuel upgrade will help you tremendously. That noise coming from the engine might be the sound of Detonation.

Would it be a good thing now to upgrade to 24 injectors?

Maybe a shoot of 35shot of N2O too cool off the boost a bit.

                That's awesome. Congrats.

2.6 should be able to get 12 psi or more. John D what's the size of your pulley?

SSM, what style of grooves did you get?

Really want to know how HPTurners would make a difference.

Still working on mine. I'm going to rebuild mine before I do and get a header and intercooler. Lost my job though so I'm set back for a bit.

                Thanks for the news.

A small shot of nitrous is very good to keep it out of detonation. But... It will make the engine run even more lean, because the charge will be more dense and it will have more oxygen in it too. A wet shot might be a possibility.

I think my pulley is a 2.75 if I remember right. It's the one that came with my used kit.

Sorry to hear about the job situation. Hopefully an even better one will come up soon.

The true cure for detenation caused by a lean condition is more fuel so you can balance your air/ fuel ratio. Anything else seems like a bandaid,ex.: water,N2O,or CO2 injection. Get the injectors and get ur pcm flashed or programed to handle them thats the true solution. I'm not sure if you can put in 36#ers and use a maf-t or similar device to tune, but I would think it wouldn't fully be able to compinsate for them.
