• bad to run s/c on back of belt?

if i can run a SC using the back of the drivebelt is that not a good idea, assuming that from 2o'clock to 9 o'clock was making contact. is there some tape or something to help the belt stick to it? otherwise i will wait for a counterclockwise unit to go for auction

That is how the Powerdyne is run. John D came up with what he calls a "power wrap" to keep the belt from slipping. There are also grooved pullies you can have made from places such as ASP. If you do some searches you'll find plenty of info. I'll sticky some things later also for you and others.

The good thing about PD is that it spins more easily than a conventional gear driven blower. It also has a lot less parasitic lost.

But slippage is a reality for all SC. If you go to www.superchargeronline.com you'll see that this is the #1 concern.

Some have tried cog tooth pulley and it works. But in all out racing it's been known to break the belt.

The JohnD wrap and grooved pulley has been able to minimize the slippage; not eliminate it. It's been great so far.

good luck finding a Mach Performance kit at aution. I think they have only made about 3 of them. (it seems) but I am not saying it is a bad kit. Just very few of them out there and it might help if they were actually for sale. (you have to call them, the website does not list them as for sale yet or something. But that kit uses a secondary belt that spins the blower with the ribbed side. it is also gear driven.

But I don't even know what kind of a car you have so I can't be of much help.

The Mach kit would be my preference of the supercharger kits made for our cars. Its a more complete kit and they offer a tune and injector package for it for a few hundred bucks more. I have actually been considering this kit lately since i havent had the time to really work on my turbo system anymore. For around 4500 (deffinately not cheap) you get a very complete kit and the injectors and the tune which should put you well over 300whp and torque.
