  • walbro 255 installed have a ?

Just got the walbro 255 high pressure pump installed and I just wanted to know if anyone who has it installed, had their fuel pressure at idle go up to 48 psi. I know before my idle readings were 44 psi and now with the new pump it is at 48 psi. It is alot better than before, the car seems to run smoother and has more response to it, under boost. At about 9 pounds of boost, my fuel pressure was at around 90 psi. At around 5-6 pounds it is around 70-80 psi. I also put my TRC1 on the #2 setting to retard the timing a little bit more. I should be going to the dyno shop on Fri., so hopefully I'll have some numbers. Thanks to anyone that can give me any info. on the fuel pressure.

I don't have mine installed yet because I'm getting my car smogged soon. But I use to use BAP.

98Greenglow did a review on this and so did Riles and what you have sounds about right.

I plan on installing MAFT along with it.

Can't wait to see how you do on the dyno. Tuning might be an issue though and the will tell you alot if you do need it.

Do NOT combine the kenne bell boost a pump and an aftermarket fuel pump.

      I run a granatelli 255 lph pump.

I had serious misfire issues with the combination of the two.

I was racing with shirl that day. I made 2 piss poor runs.

I dissconnected the boost a pump and was back spinning into the 12's.

Kenne bell boost a pump is a kick @ss upgrade, FOR A STOCK FUEL PUMP.

      Hope this helps!

48 psi at idle is about the max you can go without seeing misfires at idle. Any higher and you'll definately encounter some issues.

Thanks for your responses , the car seems to be running fine with the new fuel pump, just had me a little worried.

My fuel pressure gauge doesn't work but when I put in my walbro the car did seem to run a little richer. I don't run the inline pump anymore. Like James said it's a bit much.
