I've read on enthusiast sites for other car makes about people who did custom supercharger installs on their cars. To do so, they purchased superchargers from junkyards off of cars such as Buick Regals and Pontiac Bonnevilles and fitted the piping and other accessories to fit their cars. How feasible is this? Would a factory supercharger from a wrecked Buick Regal, per say, be able to be used in a 3.4L Camaro? I suppose that the most significant reason for doing something like this is that a supercharger from a wrecked car sells for pennies on the dollar compared to buying a new Paxton or Vortech. Any input would be much appreciated.

I was looking into doing the same thing with my '94 3.4L, had a contact with Geoff Knight of www.boosthead.com who could fab up a custom lower intake, and intake plenum to turn the inlet aroud from the firewall towards the driver's side. The cost would have been around $1,500. If you're serious about this, I could sell you a blower from a GTP (Eaton M90) that you can have rebuilt (just to be safe). You'd still have to cut into the firewall and get a cowl-induction hood to make it all fit, however. Also, you'll have to find a way to get a belt onto the pulley and a tensioner to keep it on there. Just a few things to look for...Check out my stable of supercharged W-Bodies HERE
\'97 Pontiac GP GTP Coupe
\'98 Regal GS | L67 3800 Series II

I've heard of that too. But adapting something like that would cost alot of money. But it is doable. If you do go that route then I recommend twin screw (Whipple, Kenne Bell) than root blowers.
Investing on twin screw and adapting it to your car is worth the investment. Corky Bell prefers twin screw than any other force induction. It gives you alot of low end torque and good boost line. Just find a blower that's close to the size of your engine then take it to a machine shop and see if they could do something to make it adaptable to your car. Again it will be hard, esp. finding a machine shop like this. I just happen to know this guy who does this because he owns the shop and he is an off road enthusiast.
