  • what crank pully do you use?

what crank pully do you use for a custom powerdyne supercharger set up. Will the lt1 crank pully work from the kit the company sells, or do you use something special?

Everyone running a powerdyne is running the stock balancer since the supercharger runs off the same belt as the accessories. I think a few people with custom prochargers are running a gtp balancer which has a seperate belt for the supercharger.

how would you do it with the stock balancer? Would you not run any accessories that way? i would assume you would have to run somthing like the gtp balancer to to have two seperate belt locations for accessories and a seperate one for the supercharger.

Like he said, we use the stock crank pulley. The powerdyne doesn't use the stock tensioner, but rather a fixed tension unit that comes with the kit. You also swap out one idler pulley for a grooved pulley and the supercharger mounts to run off the smooth side of the belt.

its real simple, it just adds on as another accessory and runs of the serpentine belt. The mach procharger kit does the same thing but Pathogen used a second belt on her custom kit it believe.

you wont be dissapointed, its a great car with decent power and gas mileage and is fun as hell to drive. Look for a car with the y87 package (its a performance package that gives you better rear gears, a limited slip diff, dual exhaust, and a better stearing ratio) its a much better starting point. Then do your standard intake and exhaust mods before you move to the serious mods like force induction.
