Hey all, my buddy got a twin turbo setup for his '94 3000gt and it will basically be making around 300 hp he says. I have been seeking more power from my car and since I used to be able to beat him when we were both naturally aspirated, I would like to continue kicking his little imports ***. One problem, i am very interested in the powerdyne due to what ive heard about it being extremely easy to install, but tiago told me that his kit is also... however. some guys posting about their HP say that with powerdyne they are putting out 207?! dont our cars make 200!? that doesnt seem very promising to me what am i missing here... tiago says his kit will produce 352 hp, now thats what i need to continue to whoop on my buddy. someone please clarify why the powerdyne seems So low!

Lol someone actually wasted time putting a TT kit on a non vr4?
Because it is so slow if your going to compare it to tiago's kit lol. Btw there is a difference between rear wheel and crank horsepower. Powerdyne is around 205-220 to the wheels(mod dependant).. we come with 200 to the crank(160 or so to the wheels)00\' firebird v6 5spd<br />201rwhp ---- 230 rwtq<br />\"Everyday I grow stronger...and further from you.\"<br />WARNING: Do not take any of my comments seriously unless they are technical in nature and then only at your own risk

I'm fairly certain the Powerdyne kit makes more than 7 more horsepower on a 3.8! Maybe you were thinking of a 3.4? And about FFF's kit, yes they did put down 352hp but that was with 15psi and with high octane gas if I'm not mistaken, not exactly an everyday setup. So that wouldn't be ideal for street racing your buddy. Currently Powerdyne kits are more expensive and take some tweaking to up the boost from the stock setting. FFF's kit is ready to go right out of the box from what they say, and it's easily adjustable up to 20psi I think.
Both kits put down good numbers and can be installed by a non-professional but you should be somewhat mechanically inclined i.e. if you don't change your own oil you're gonna have some issues with the kits!! Do some research on this forum, there is lots of info out there on both.2002 Black Firebird:<br />A4, Y87, W68, T-tops<br />Best NA ET: 15.16 @ 90<br /> <a href=\"http://members.cardomain.com/darksde02\" target=\"_blank\">http://members.cardomain.com/darksde02</a>

ok so which one would you go with in order to beat him? ahaha i just cant stand to see my bird be beat by his 3kgt....it would be a sad day. as long as im N/A he cant brag about it but i dont want to FI my car and have him whoop me. I'd like to at least be close so that i can do some mods and beat him... think that the powerdyne with a 10lb pully would acheive this? i also dont seee me getting forged internals or anything anytime soon, the FI will be the biggest thing i do, MAYBE a cam one day but just the basics, TC headers.....suspension parts, i wont be rebuilding the engine or anything so will the powerdyne be good enough? if not i may just have to slap on some nitrous.-Hawk<br /><br />===================================<br />Black 2001 Pontiac Firebird<br />Automatic Transmission Street Bird<br /><br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/550453\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/550453</a> <br /><br />\"Live like you were Dying\"

how long would it take to install the FFF kit? days? weeks? my buddy spent 2 weeks doing his turbo kit and he had pretty detailed instructions from a guy who did it before him (the 3000gt) but his car was out of commision for 2 weeks! i have a job and need my car to get to and from work so i dont think having my car in pieces would be a good thing... are you SURE a powerdyne wounldnt just be good enough? i heard it just takes a couple sockets and 2-3 hours to put in...-Hawk<br /><br />===================================<br />Black 2001 Pontiac Firebird<br />Automatic Transmission Street Bird<br /><br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/550453\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/550453</a> <br /><br />\"Live like you were Dying\"

I'm positive you won't like the powerdyne near as much since it costs more then the turbo and does less. I'd give it a couple of days to a couple of months to install depending on how much you know and how hard you work. However with the turbo kit you won't have the same car when your done lol. With the powerdyne you just bought yourself a $3000 intake.00\' firebird v6 5spd<br />201rwhp ---- 230 rwtq<br />\"Everyday I grow stronger...and further from you.\"<br />WARNING: Do not take any of my comments seriously unless they are technical in nature and then only at your own risk

James at Vector Perf. dyno some of the V6 cars at 240 rwhp at 6psi. His 95 Camaro dynos at 256 rwhp, that's plain stock. Not even an exhaust system. I personally saw this car before it went to Florida. Check the media section of this site. That's almost equal to Turbo except it is non-intercooled. Both non-intercooled PD and Turbo have ran 14.3.
Just wait till I intercooled mine and get the boost to 11psi then will see what it's putting down. But it stinks right now because I have been out of work and my bills are piling up. I'm soo broke. :(
But if it's more performance potential you are looking for then turbo is your route. I don't recommend going above 13 psi with the BD-11A Powerdyne. Ofcourse you could also upgrade this with a shot of N2O. Like Shirl and Ironman24.

im really most concerned with which one will leave my car out of commision for less time. how hard is the FFF install. what kind of work is required, how much crap do i have to unbolt and replace and stuff.. is there a write up about it? i would love to see that. if its not too bad i may buy shanes kit, i am extremely interested and at the rate i am making money ill be able to get it very soon,
hey shane, why didnt u use the kit? is it in good condition, the last thing i need is a kit missing parts and stuff, ill have enough trouble geting the damn thing on in the first place. and thanks for the offer, a little more time and i will def buy from you as long as it has evreything that tiago will give me and if its in good condition, thanks
so main question, i will be working my *** off i dont want to be on my *** for too long, 1-2 weeks? even 2 weeeks is a bit too long.. the powerdyne can be setup fast right? and gets 250-+ hp? to the wheels, how much better does the turbo kit get?-Hawk<br /><br />===================================<br />Black 2001 Pontiac Firebird<br />Automatic Transmission Street Bird<br /><br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/550453\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/550453</a> <br /><br />\"Live like you were Dying\"
