• ?'s for shirl

shirl,

just got a few ?'s for ya about your s/c and setup.

1st, how many pounds of boost are you running?
have you done the john d power wrap or something equivalent?

and mostly, your car is a 96 how did you get it tuned????

if others have any input please feel free to reply

thanks alot

6psi with the pully that came with the kit. I've seen up to 11psi a couple times on a 6 psi pully. And tuning... what is that?? all trial and error (mostly error) for many years.. Autotap did help though...until the program froze up the laptop I was using...I always wanted to wideband it, but never did. I'm sure the car's not even at it's full potential because I run it very rich.

LOL, you guys have too much time on your hands to be staying up that late!! I went to bed a little after 12 last night. Anyway, I'm not really sure what it "spiked" at. I was probably too concerned with keeping the car in a straight line. In the past, I have seen as little as 5-6psi and as much as 11psi. I have cheap sh*t gauges though, so who knows if they even work right..my fuel pressure gauge is fritzing out big time on me and it's the same brand (westtech) as the boost gauge. I don't feel like investing $400 into autometer gauges (of course, I want the Cobalts). Keep in mind, though, the higher the psi, the more prone your engine will be to blowby and oil leaks. Every engine is different. I've seen oil leak out of valve covers with 7psi on my friend's silver RS. His car ran a 13.8something on it's first outing. You could have problems with more or less boost, depending on how strong or weak they built your motor that day...
