Well, since maintaining boost with the powerdyne hasnt been a problem in 4 months or so now and the JohnD powerap makes sure theres plenty of pully coverage I feel it's time to get a 9lb pully now. I know some of you have been getting them lately so can you please tell me were to get them? Also.... It's a 2.93 pully right? I already tried powerdyne but Im scared to order the wrong thing. I want to order from were someone has already done an order lately. THANKS

I've made offers before and nobody was willing to sell them. But what I did was bought a 8 ribbed pulley from someone for $25.
As soon as I get all the necessary stuff to upgrade to 9psi., I plan to have it taken to a machine shop to smooth it out to 2.9" diameter and then add the grooves that is similar to yours.
NOTE: I believe that if we do upgrade to 9psi we better use intercoolers to be in a safe side.

I mentioned it in my other post, but I am going to get my pulley machined to 3.0 when I get it ribbed. I figure this would put me at between 10-11 psi (since 3.12 actually gives us 8-9 psi).
How many psi do you think you will hit with the 2.93 pulley? I imagine somehwere in the 12 psi range?

The pulley I received with my used kit is 2.8"
I wonder what I would see with that thing, if it was grooved?
I did see it peak at 9 lbs. a couple of times when I was testing. :D\'98 A4 Camaro v6->v8 conversion, and STS kit next<br />v6: 13.6 Powerdyne, 13.2 150 shot, 13.8 120 shot, 14.3 85 shot, 15.7 stock<br />v8(na): 12.18@113, 392rwhp<br />Moderator on <a href=\"http://www.mtfba.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.mtfba.org</a> and <a href=\"http://www.frrax.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.frrax.com</a> (Road Race & Autocross)<br /><a href=\"http://community.webshots.com/user/johnduncan10\" target=\"_blank\">Car pics</a>, <a href=\"http://www.trscca.com\" target=\"_blank\">TN Region SCCA</a>

Jesus, 2.8"? If you get that thing machined, it might be too much!
Greenglow- You can get the pulley from aspracing.com. Just call them- they make our pullies out of vortech pullies. They cost $90 though.

Thanks everyone.....So far I fixed my fuel pressure to be 70 psi instead of the way to rich 100 psi or way to lean 55 psi I ran on my last Dyno. Im sure that will defiently help for the next one. I also just ordered new wires and NGK TR6 plugs from Thunder racing to get rid of the mis fires from plugs 3 and 5. That should squeeze out some more power too. I also ordered a fan relay switch to keep her nice and kool.BUT I STILL HAVENT FOUND A 9 POUND PULLY YET!!!!!!!!!Ill try ASPRACING tomorrow and see whats up. THANKS AGAIN for the infoPowerdyne 98 a4 convert<br /><br /> stock 16.6 @ 86 <br /> <br /> 6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90 <br /> <br /> 04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe<br /> <br /> stock- 13.5 @ 103 <br /><br />LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107 <br /> <a href=\"http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98\" target=\"_blank\">http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98</a> ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)

I didn't feel like paying a bunch of money for a pulley, so thats why I'm having my pulley cut down to 3.0 instead of getting a whole new one. Here is something to think about, though- if you get a vortech 2.93" pulley, it already has 6 or 8 grooves in it similiar to your pulley- you may want to try it without smoothing it out first!
Not to mention, it would be much cheaper than having the pulley converted!All gone :(<br />Best ET ever: 14.3 (I think)<br />----------------------------<br />Check out my site for exhaust clips, burnouts, and pictures, and the supercharger throttle body mod.<br /><a href=\"http://www.geocities.com/net_addict/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Click on the Firebird</a>

I just ordered a 2.8 inch custom made pully with custom grooves from ASP racing. It cost me 125$ and wont be here for over a month. The guy told me that I should see 9-10 psi with it.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------- He said with the 3.12 we should see 6-7, with the 3.0 we should see 7-8, with the 2.9 we should see 8-9, and with the 2.8 I should have my desired goal of a constant 9 pounds. I hope it works out good. Just imagine the potential. Right now the most boost Im seeing is 7 1/2.That's realy good for a 6 lb pully and all but Im boost hungry now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------He said to not be fooled by the pully numbers on powerdyne's website. He said that a 2.93 would get a v8 camaro 9 pounds but a slower truck only 6 pounds. He said our v6 is kinda in the middle of those two and my best bet would be to get a 2.8 instead of 2.93. Hope he was right.Powerdyne 98 a4 convert<br /><br /> stock 16.6 @ 86 <br /> <br /> 6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90 <br /> <br /> 04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe<br /> <br /> stock- 13.5 @ 103 <br /><br />LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107 <br /> <a href=\"http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98\" target=\"_blank\">http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98</a> ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)

I have seen a peak of 9 lbs. on my 2.8" smooth pulley.
I think it would need grooves to sustain it though...\'98 A4 Camaro v6->v8 conversion, and STS kit next<br />v6: 13.6 Powerdyne, 13.2 150 shot, 13.8 120 shot, 14.3 85 shot, 15.7 stock<br />v8(na): 12.18@113, 392rwhp<br />Moderator on <a href=\"http://www.mtfba.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.mtfba.org</a> and <a href=\"http://www.frrax.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.frrax.com</a> (Road Race & Autocross)<br /><a href=\"http://community.webshots.com/user/johnduncan10\" target=\"_blank\">Car pics</a>, <a href=\"http://www.trscca.com\" target=\"_blank\">TN Region SCCA</a>

I wonder how much boost the 2.8 pulley would push with no slipage? Considering the 3.12 runs 9 psi with no slip, the 2.93 would run 12 with no slip, where does this put the 2.8?
We need to figure out ways to hook for sure! Time to get real creative!All gone :(<br />Best ET ever: 14.3 (I think)<br />----------------------------<br />Check out my site for exhaust clips, burnouts, and pictures, and the supercharger throttle body mod.<br /><a href=\"http://www.geocities.com/net_addict/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Click on the Firebird</a>

The 2.8 is the one that came with my kit. I have no idea if it was original or not though...
After I had it straightened out, it's about 2.76 now...\'98 A4 Camaro v6->v8 conversion, and STS kit next<br />v6: 13.6 Powerdyne, 13.2 150 shot, 13.8 120 shot, 14.3 85 shot, 15.7 stock<br />v8(na): 12.18@113, 392rwhp<br />Moderator on <a href=\"http://www.mtfba.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.mtfba.org</a> and <a href=\"http://www.frrax.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.frrax.com</a> (Road Race & Autocross)<br /><a href=\"http://community.webshots.com/user/johnduncan10\" target=\"_blank\">Car pics</a>, <a href=\"http://www.trscca.com\" target=\"_blank\">TN Region SCCA</a>

I don't know. I'm the third owner of this kit...
Well at least the third, could be more for all I know. It belonged to Perry V. before me. And he got it used from somebody else.
I don't know the history of the kit before that other person.
I may end up "upsizing" my pulley at some point. I'll try grooving it first though, just to see.
I am only going to try 1/32" grooves though, 1/16" might be pushing it. Looking at putting them on 1/8" centers, seven of them.\'98 A4 Camaro v6->v8 conversion, and STS kit next<br />v6: 13.6 Powerdyne, 13.2 150 shot, 13.8 120 shot, 14.3 85 shot, 15.7 stock<br />v8(na): 12.18@113, 392rwhp<br />Moderator on <a href=\"http://www.mtfba.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.mtfba.org</a> and <a href=\"http://www.frrax.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.frrax.com</a> (Road Race & Autocross)<br /><a href=\"http://community.webshots.com/user/johnduncan10\" target=\"_blank\">Car pics</a>, <a href=\"http://www.trscca.com\" target=\"_blank\">TN Region SCCA</a>
