  • Mach Kit Update

I posted a reply under another topic but nobody helped so wanted to see if starting this new topic would help.

I usually don't reply much on the Mach kit because of all the bashing it gets. But all that aside, I'm one of the beta testers and my kit is installed and running on my car. I just fired it up about two weeks ago and only had one problem. I was popping a code and my car would pop into "reduce engine speed" mode when I was driving it about half throttle. I played with the FMU thinking the pressure was to high or low and playing with the bleed valve thinking the a/f was off. I trouble shot it and found out that my external fuel pump wasn't working because the splice that went to the power wire on the factory pump didn't bite through the jacket. Them things are junk so I soldered it. I thought for sure that was solving the problem but still same thing. Maybe somebody can help?? I am setting fuel pressure at 45-50 psi at idle which I was told by Bill. Is that right, or does it vary with every application. I'm leaving the bleed valve totally closed to run the car rich until I can get to a dyno around me. I tried increasing the fuel pressure up and down and playing with the bleed valve to make it richer or leaner and it still shuts my car down to "Reduce engine speed" at about 35 mph. A couple times it just quit coming to a stop. So if anybody can help it sounds like a tuning problem or maybe some fuel line I installed wrong but I'm stumped. Other than that though it sounds awsome and feels fast when I can get it to go past 35 mph. As soon as I get this figured out I'll Dyno and take it to the track in the spring. There's no Dyno shops in Pittsburgh and none of I know close besides Harrisburgh area. Can anybody help until I talk to Bill after the New Year.

there is usually another error code associated with the reduce engine speed. did anything else come up on the scan?? RES is a response code, to tell an operator that the pcm reacted to a faulty input, you need to find out what is causing it to drop and to find the answer.

I had my mechanic pull the code when it was happening before I fixed the fuel pump. It was popping the codes P515 and P513 (I think). It said something along the lines of airflow exceeds.... something. I can't remember the exact wording. Thats what led me to believe it wasn't receiving the fuel it needed. But now it works fine but I haven't ran the code since I fixed the fuel pump. I have no idea I'm stumped to I call Bill at Mach. Maybe I'll have to get my mechanic to pull the code again, unless somebody knows somehting else.
