Last night I got the ich to go play with my car on a lacal straight empty road at midnight. After putting in belt dressing I got 6-8 pounds of boost. I then made mt belt have only a half inch of play and I was seeing 10 pounds!!!!!!!!The 10 pounds did not slip whatsoever after 20 acelleration runs. But it's not as good as you think though..,

Since my pully is only 3.1 iches (6 pounds) the boost starts off at 0 (ofcourse) and the3n quickly build to 5 psi. then before I reach 5000 rpm's it will build to 6-7 psi. Then about a second before the car will shift gears the boost will do a quick spike from 7-10 psi. You can feel the car pull harder for that split second but it is short lived. Probaly good for peak dyno numbers but that's about it.

Im (guessing) that with my new pully, boost will start at 0 (ofcourse)and then quickly build to 7 psi. Then before I reach 5000 rpm's I SHOULD be at the 9-10 pound mark.

Even though on a dyno the peak numbers for both pullies would be close since I made my 6 pound pully to tight, the differance in the power would be extremely noticable.

Bottom line is that I beleave that if I can maintain 10 pounds of boost for that many 1/8-1/4 mile runs on a 6 pound pully with no slippidge then I beleave that we could get those gears to turn.

My boost varies from 6 psi at initial hit, to a
consistent 10 psi on the 2.75 grooved pulley and new wrap.

Got the car running again today. The Apexi SAFC did the trick for the draw-through maf sensor setup I'm using (with an LS1 maf sensor, with screen in and ported ends).

Any one ready for the Davis machining 2.5 inch pully good for 13 pounds. I might be in FEBUARY. Kinda sucks since I just spent 125 for a 2.8 pully but screw it!!!! as long as I dont have any slippidge with the 2.8 pully and get 9-10 pounds Ill get a 11 or 13 pound pully in febuary after I get my alcohal injection from SMC.

I think that before we even start worrying about people who dont already have the powerdyne being able to fab the RK sport brackets we should see if someone who already has a kit can do it as easily as it's SUPPOSED to be.

If it is easy then it would be a cheap alternative to the ATI kit (minus intercooler of course)

I've always been considering copying the brackets into autocad... the bracket that holds our supercharger on is one giant plate- probably 200-300 dollars worth of machining.

This would allow alot of people to get the powerdyne real cheap, but it would basically be considered stealing, since it is RK's design.

Either way, if somebody wanted to borrow my brackets to make their own kit, I would let them (as long as I wasn't the one making the copy). It stinks to pay 3800 bucks for a few hundred dollars worth of machining, but then again, you have to remember how much time and effort went into the design.

Or, I don't know, maybe we could trace it on a poster board and then redraw over it to be more exact with dimensions. Then just figure out the gauge.

What do you guys think?

Also there is the question of getting the stud bolts and cyclinders that goes over that. As well as the angle bracket and tensioner.

I use to do AutoCAD 2000 for air condition condenser 4 years ago, so it's been awhile. And if I have the program, I could probably do it.

If it's gear driven you can use a two belt system with a reverse housing. Just put on a GTP crank pulley and GOOOOOOOOOO.

I may have access to a shop and can do the machining myself. Problem is getting drafts and mockups so that I don't screw anything up. Since I've never seen the kit in a car before, I don't even know how the blower attaches to the bracket. I'm also really worried about proper belt tensioning. Just something else I'd have to see in order to recreate. The spacers and studs typically aren't to much of a problem (famous last words). Now I just need to find some one local with the blower and some time. For this I'm willing to make some free time--even if it takes all night!

You guys arent going to beleave this... POWERDYNE ACTUALY EMAILED ME BACK!!!

They say that the xb1a will fit any bracket desighned for the bd11a....Weather THEY desighned the bracket or not. If the bdaa1 will fit then the new xb1a will fit as well. We just gotta tap the oil line and thats it!

Well right now we already have one person getting 10 psi with a smaller pully on the bd11a. Shirl is also about to hook up a 10 pound pully. Ive got a 91/2 pound pully coming in the mail. So were doing alot of new things with the bd11a......

But it's only a matter of time till one of us craves more than just 9-12 psi and has a engine that can handle it................................................ .................................................. .....GUESS WHAT.......aLL WE HAVE TO DO IS ORDER THE XB1A. THATS IT....THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED THROUGH POWERDYNE THEM SELVES.

Me so happppppppppppyyy.

Laron, you'll definitely want to look at some sort of charge cooling with that setup.

Last night I remembered that I ran an autotap log of a 0-100 blast on Sunday when the car was running right. So I fired up the laptop and analyzed the log. Found that I was getting 10 degrees of knock retard... So I'll need to pull a couple of degrees of timing, or look into some sort of intercooling too.

It was about 70 degrees that day.

Im going SMC alky injection. That should be fine for 9-10 pounds. Hell realisticaly Ive been running up to 9 pounds for the past 3-5 months. So Im positive that with the SMC Ill be fine. The only thing is that the half gallon only holds 64 ounces (I think a half gallon is 64 ounces)of alky/water mix. Turbo buick . com says that on engines pulling 18-30 psi they only use 4-6ounces per 1/4 mile.

Just figuering a worst case senario it would only last me roughly 10 1/4 mile runs. Realisticaly I dont drive my car hard like that unless testing. And you should never be sprinting a 1/4 mile at full boost on public roads any way. Im guessing that in regular driving you'll only be using 1-3 ounces under short acelleration runs and changing lanes. In this case of regular driving you could probaly go under boost any where from 20 through 50 times before needing a refill.

These are just speculations but Ill make sure I post my results. With me the SMC is defiently the way to go since I own 4 different cars and usualy only drive the camaro when eighter testing or when I take the wife out on a date every few weeks. For someone who uses the maro as a daily driver Im sure filling up the tank every so often would get old.
