Does anyone know what I should gap my NGK TR6's if running with a supercharger? Does it even matter?

j/w one of my plugs are bad right now and I want to replace all of them tomm with new NGK's but I wont have the charger up and going for another month so should I just gap them normal now and then change them when I do get the charger ready or could I gap them at .05-.06 now and just leave them like that for the supercharger. Thanks. :cool:Email: Preki1212@hotmail.com

are the TR6's not platnimums?
If thats the case, those are going to be the last thing that you are going to want to put in the car.
Those run really hot, and your going to increase the chance to detonate if those are run.
Check the install guide on my site, I belive that I wrote what I had installed on mine when I got the SC up and going.

So if the the NGK's ARE platinum then thats bad? Also the plugs you stated in the install were the AC Delco R44LTS. Using those plugs at .035 gap you had good results? And if I bought the R44LTS plugs and gaped them at .035, could I use them N/A until I get the charger hooked up or should I gap them normal and then change their gap when charger is hooked up?Email: Preki1212@hotmail.com

What do you mean the wider the better  Are you still stuck on that Grand Prix comercial :D . The more power you run the smaller the plug gap should be. Generally, for every 50 hp that you add you need to decrease the gap by .004. If you add 150 hp over stock you should decrease the gap .012. You have to account for all the power that you have added. So if you've added 50 NA hp and 100 N2O/SC power you would decrease the gap by .012. Starting from .060 we get .048. Better to be a little narrow rather than wide since the gap tends to gradually widen as the plugs age so in this case we might go with .043-.046 just for good measure.
Also, The NGK Tr6's are a cooler plug (Copper) not platinum. They are made for power adders. They will not melt like many plugs. The NGK Tr-55s are normal.
Run the NGKs and gap them around 45. They will run excellent with and without the supercharger.

NO.... Chris is taking what I said to literally. There are alot more variable than car X makes 50hp more now, change the gap. That is a very general ruth of thumb. There are alot of variables, fuel type, ignition system, etc.
If you use the TR6's you can't idle around town all the time, as they might foul. You have to drive it hard every now and then, that is the purpose of the SC, right? :D
My recommendation would be to go with the TR6's and gap them at .055. With modern ignition systems, you shouldn't have any problems running it that big. I know many GP's that are running over 350HP that use this gap.

Are you saying the idle will be messed up. I don't quite understand what you are trying to say. The plugs will not "foul".97 3.8 v6, Black (A4)

Fouling: Carbon buildup on the plugs causing the electrode to be less efficent, and finally getting to a point that they will cause a misfire.

Yes..but this will not happen just because they are Tr6's. If carbon builds up on this plug, it would most likely build up on any other plug.
These plugs are top of the line, They would be least likely to build up carbon. These plugs would have a nice idle also.
