• Supercharged V6 Firebird - Sema 2001 Fire & Ice Firebird

I just purchased the May 2002 High Performance magazine and saw the Sema 2001 Fire & Ice Firebird.

It's firebird equipped with an Intercooled Eaton Supercharger that makes 304 HP.
According to the magazine, the car was mofified by Custom Design Limited of Trevor Wisconsin for Automotive Services Incorporated and Mr. Gasket.

Does someone has info on this car, and/or contacts, the mods seems very interesting.

Thanks,
Daniel.

I saw that car at autorama here in detroit. It looks pretty sweet and all but man does it look complicated and hard to install. So much stuff is different not to bring people down but it does look like a lot of work. But hey it can be done!

Gosh, if you guys are going for a root blower, I say go for whipple S/C. I heard in sucks in twice as much as a standard root and the curve lines are better than the centrifugal.

It's just a thought. ;)

Roots blowers kickass for sub 3500RPM power
Centrigugals kickass over 3500RPMs

Where do you want your power to kick in?

I like the idea of centrifugal blowers on fuel injected cars myself - they are extremely efficienct and small and definetly do the job. Nothing quite like the idea of a belt-driven turbo ha!

304 at the wheels, or is that estimated HP at the crank?

What kind of new S?C is this you guys are talking about, is it already being manufactured? Are there any companies out there that even make a S/C for 99 and newer 3.8l??

Since I live in Wisconsin I tried to find them. Directory assistance can't find a business by that name in Trevor, and the magazine editors will not answer my numerous inquires.

I heard a rumor that it is the same drivetrain that was used in a 97 Firebird factory "mule", RWD L67 with a 6-speed (which was written up in HPP magazine in 97), but in a new body.
