to redo my whole 3.8 with forged internals and 8;1 compression ratio for a turbo?

SERIOUSLY how hard would it be to tune the ***** pushing over 15 psi?

i havent been able to get my damn mind off it today "built 3.8 turbo? or stock LS1??"

Built 3.8 turbo all the way.......When you have a 3.8 charged/turboed you have somthing very special. Sure you probaly still dont have as much power as a stock LS1 , but to all the rest of the 6 cummunity you have somthing special.

When you get the LS1....Sure youve got 300 HP. Thats defiently alot more than you have right now.But so dose everyone else who bought a 98 and up Z28. Your actualy at the bottom of the v8 heep with only 300 HP in your LS1.

So you get the LS1 and start dumpingin even more money. Now youve turned your high13's LS1 into a low 12 second car. Maybe you even get 11's. Thats great and all but you see 11 and 12 second Z@*'s evrytime you go to the track.HOW MANY 13 AND 12 SECOND V6 'S DO YOU SEE?

well after im done with it all.. i'll definately be WAY OVER the 300 rwhp mark.. im going for mid 11's.. thats my goal

and if i have room to push more.. which i prolly will.. i will push it to go even faster. but my main concern would be tuning..

Depends what you want, you can hit 11s with a turbo V6 or an NA LS1, you just need to look at the $ per horsepower ratio....

Tyler,
Im leaning towards the same thing. Except Ive already bought the turbo kit, so Im kinda half way their.
But Im not really satisfied with the performance of my car right now. I know their is something wrong with it but I cant figure it out, Im getting autotap soon to help out but Im just unsure if I even wanna put the turbo on at this point.
I know she has more to her than what she's got right now in N/A form. Im doing some serious thinking on how I want to go at this. Maybe I should just put the turbo on my motor right now and beat it while I build another one for boost.
Or sink money into it right now to try and find out whats wrong before I go any further with the modding.

this is what im going to do. im going to buy a 3.8 block.. build it from bottom to top.. all aftermarket.. i think i'll be getting everthing from intense.. except the block.. and some other things.

my neighbor also, she has a like.. 92 civic dx hatch back.. im going to buy that from her.. and after i take out my N/A motor and put in the built boost motor.. the NA motor will be going in the civic DX, along with a cam, and some other wild stuff to it.. im gonna have 2 crazy cars.

RWD civic hatchback is going to be cool

you never are satisfied ;)

went from 3800 v6

Bought LS1, and already bought a blower for it.. when does it stop? (when your wallet drys up)

just make sure what your dumping your money into is at least possible to make fast, ie, not a stock motor 88 civic dx. The 3.8 has potential, so i say go for it. (if only somebody could really tune these motors, then some serious times would follow)

go 3.8 all the way. Let's see, you will spend about 5 to 6 grand in making it a rebuilt motor with turbo. But you will easily be running 11's. You could move up from there or just keep it. How many eleven second cars are out there?? not many on the streets, only the v8's, supras, or extremely modified imports.
If you go v8 swap, it is like 5 grand, Magnus did it himself, but face it, not everyone has the time or patience to do a swap themselves. Your car will still be 13 second car. Add on the mods and you will be hitting close to 10 grand in making it an 11 second, yes it has more potential and power, but you want to make your car fast and save some money.
Then there is the uniquesness thing, not everyone has a Turbo V6 running 11's out in the streets, you will get more respect with your 6 than with an 8. If you had an 8, less people would wanna race you.

the whole thing about respecting the v6 is that it is slim too none!!! even alot of my freinds look at me crooked when they see the car running right and going fast. it is just there nature. almost all v8 guys think that the v6 is a disgrace too the fbody and that is it. dont get me wrong, there are a few nice guys that are all about anything being modded.

and if anyone is going too set goals you should set them high! i set a goal when i started this project too go 10 flat. i will stick too this till the day i get there or the day i die. if you set a high goal for yourself, you will strive too get there at any price (labor, blood, sweat, all that good stuff)
boost, you got it???
