  • How much boost can a stock bottom end L67 handle

Ive got a line on an L67 short block w/ 50K miles on it. I was wondering how much boost it could handle in stock form from an intercooled turbo?
Im hoping 12psi continuosly and 15 from time to time. I kinda wanna do a cheap reliable build up so I dont really wanna throw in forged ceramic coated diamond pistons at $800 ya know.
Could any of you experts lend a helping hand with what should be done to the block to make it cheap and reliable as well?
    Thanks,
    Shane

So what are you gonna do for heads? Intense or SSM or just port the stock L36? Do you think I should "revive" the lower end with new stock parts or should an L67 with 50K miles on the block handle 12-14psi with no problem?
          Thanks,
          Shane

hey snatch, for ur info, Intense and SSM heads are ported stock L36 heads or stock L67 heads, the difference is L67's have the injector port in the head instead of the manifold, but since ya'll will be running the L36 manifold, u will use the L36 heads and keep the injectors in the intake...

Yup! Does anyone know the difference between the intense and SSM heads though. maybe the springs and valves?
