  • Opinions on a good turbo cam.

    lets here what you think is the best combo for a turbo cam....i wanna be able to use LS1 valvesprings....so what specs would you recomend with the GTP block, and PnP heads? Ive got some ideas I just wanna see what you guys think.

      turbo cams are completely backwards from a NA or blower cam, the exhaust duration is normally quite a bit smaller than the intake, i cant give you exact specs but i know that much, sorry...

          what specs are they? i dont want nothing huge....just a nice cam that i can use with LS1 valvesprings.

            214 intake dur
            208 exhaust dur
            .510 intake lift
            .496 exhaust lift

            should make for a peppy lil sound

              You can use a split duration cam with intake with higher duration or you can have intake/exhaust at the same duration. I think the specs above would work really nice. I dont think you should go with a huge cam just for tuning reasons and bad tuning with a turbo would be hard to fix. Keep it small.

                  stage 3 cam is WAY too big......im planning to run 15-18psi or w/e it takes to runs mid 11's with the heads/cam/GTP block.

                        116lsa is huge. looks like a good cam but it is on the big side. i hope all is well with the computer and you dont wind up having too wait for the ecu too catch itself like mine does.lol

                          i sked about that, they said it will give me a SES light if it idles for a while, lol thats why i got auto tap.

                          what does you comp do? is it just to slow? or what?
