what does you comp do? is it just to slow? or what?

the cam is just too big. i made the mistake of runnign too big of a cam cause i wanted the car too rev higher. i was thinking of changing the cam too a smaller one but now i have it figured out. when i start the car i have too hold it at 2500 for 3 seconds or so, then i slowly let off the gas. the ses light comes on and the car idles fine. but if i come too a stopsign or light and hit the brakes too hard the car dies.lol. i guess i have a racecar on my hands

For what shane is trying to accomplish...a mild head work...FLOW not pressure...to keep drivability civil!!

i jsut havent gone that far yet. i will be doing that soon this year hopefully. plus i wouldnt be able too run the lt1 throttlebody without more fabrication. i want too keep that crap too a minimum since it took sooooo long too get the car done thus far.

I think the VS cam is geared towards SC's...remember the general rule..." You will make good power with a bad cam + a good turbo, vs a good cam + a bad turbo" ...You see I keep on preaching this...picking a cam for a turbo is a headache if the market for streetable turbo cam hasn't been delved into...

but many people here favor the intake over the exhaust?

we make custom turbo cams that are streetable. look at david siri's car. that thing is being driven right now !turbo and it is fine.

I don't doubt that Matt...your work precedes you ;) ...however, two identical engines with two different turbos and their intended use MAY not be able to capitalize on the same bumpstick! It is a given...I think it becomes subjective when one uses the word "driven right now" and then streetable in the same breath (under this circumstances in particular). Drivability and Streetability aren't one in the same...(3800) turbo cams will be succesful if kits are more readily available, that way each tuner can make a spec'd cam for each application...that is just my opinion!!This way there is a direct connection to what REALLY is working and what isn't...WITHOUT knowing the pressure differential between intake and exhaust...then a turbo cam is really "hit or miss"...remember maximize not optimize if you have to open the engine...you proove this already with your own setup!!
