• ac relocation for turbo.

hey there. I haven't posted in ages, but i remember from a long time ago someone(i though Shane but a search did no good) listed a part #('s) for some a/c relocating lines or soemthing for anyone making up forward sweeping headers.

Anyone got any ideas? I'm going to keep searching but if someone knows.. please share
thanks

no one? :(

talked to Shane... i was definitely mistaken there. I guess what i'm wondering is are the a/c lines for fbodies pretty generic within GM in terms of their fittings so that i could possibly find some longer ones?

even if there not common, the tubing size on either side should be no problem to get new hoses made up. I work at a hose shop and i could make them all day. Just go to any hydraulic/industrial hose shop around you and tell em what you wanna do.

If you came to me i would simply cut each of the sides off your hose at the base of the aluminum tubing, then make the longer hose with a compression fitting crimped on each side, then tighten them down on to your tubing and your done.

Check around a little, because some places will jack you up. I do adapters and hoses for hydraulic systems, tubing and fittings for air bag suspensions, silicone for turbos, stainless hoses for nitrous and i am always about 1/2 the price of anyone else around here.

so anyway if you cant get longer ones from a salvage yard with those ends, be sure to check out custom ones before going through a dealership. A $25.00 one from me would get $140.00+ from the dealer.

why do you need to relocate the lines though? i just finished installing my fs headers and i didn't have to move the lines whatsoever, mind you i had to disconnect the compressor hose lines (located beside the engine block below the heads) and then slide the hoses under the headers afterwards, but it still fit, same goes for the a/c unit (silver unit near behind radiator, closest to fenderwall) header sits right behind the line and the y-pipe squeezes in perfectly. your ps lines will have to be re-routed/extended, probably the coolant lines too (to the engine) there are 2 lines on the passenger side that may need to be lengthened depending on your header angles
