I think its new. Its sort of hard to explain, but if you get it, its really easy to understand. Note** I'm not an expert at FI, so this may not even be usable.

I was thinking about a new turbo set up. It would involve foward sweeping headers I guess, but on the y-pipe from the headers, before the turbo, there could be a cut-out. So instead of all the air going to the turbo, it just runs N/A. If it was possible you could run a pipe from this cutout all the way back like its just a normal exhaust. Its sort of like a turbo bypass. Open the cut-out to run NA, close it to run full boost.

Just an idea, probably wouldnt work.

i am skeptical (sp?) about that idea, i would be concerned about the cutout leaking at somepoint as they are not air tight, also, there is not all that much room in the engine bay to run 2 sets of exhaust downpipes and a cutout it would be very tight fit if at all possible, now onto the bigger question, why would you do that in the first place? if you are concerned about spooling dont drive fast and/or keep your rev's down... in either case, if you get pulled over and a cop asks you to pop the hood (which is unlikely) you're still screwed haha

Lol, yeah, I was just thinking its a quick switch. But you could get NA mpg when you wanted it.

sounds good in theory but as pr95 was talking about i dont know what would happen with pressure... would it try to push out the forward sweeping headers. also heard a rumor so if not whatever, trying to make a partially electrical turibine to eliminate boost lag.

nitrous is probably still the way to go ne way for those conserned with gas but still wanting power when they want it

turbos are very economical. even my super charged ride gets the same gas mileage as stock.

the big cost is in running premium fuel as opposed to regular octane.

After my turbo I got better mpg than before. That was before I put bigger injectors in though.

Like others are saying in here... if you want N/A MPG, just keep your foot out of it and it's that simple.
