4CEFED aka rkn 205 keith made so many promises about he can program pcm and was going to charge me just the shipping cost and he knew the creator of the maft+ and can get me one brand new for less than 130.00 and he is making a turbo for 3500.00 and yada yada yada, he just filled my head with bs all he did was ran up my long distance man that is very uncool, i dont think its right to promise people things then all of a sudden ignore them and just say the he** with it its complete [img]graemlins/bs.gif[/img]

In the past, there have been some people who made promises about building a kit for our cars that doesn't cost much and then fall short on that promise. For a while there I was going to have these two brothers build a Turbo kit on my car and have it as a prototype for us 3.8. But their shop close and that project was postpone. I'm just glad that I didn't post about this. Because I would hate to have someone fired up and then nothing happens.

This just goes to prove that building a kit for your own car and building a kit that will go on everyone's car is very different and very difficult.
Its really easy to talk about a kit, its design, what it will do, what it can do... but its a completely different song and dance when you go to do it. You start to realize that there are more issues to the big picture that are never discussed in the forums for example : Legality, safety, liability, durability...etc.
All the discussions done on this forum is usally answering the following questions:
How much power will it add? (theoretical)
How much boost will you be running?
How cool will the system run and what are you doing to keep it cool?
How easy is the kit to reproduce?
How much will it cost?
What parts are being used?
However... when you start asking for a replica kit, these questions should also be asked?
Is the kit safe?
Can we waranty the kit?
Will it be easy to install for the average joe?
Is their any chance of liablity if the kit causes damage to the property or life of the customer?
How much will the kit cost to reproduce?
Is the kit going to deliver the power promised for the price?
Is the kit going to be easily replicated?
Is there any legal ramifications for using parts from various manufacturers?
When you make a kit for yourself, you don't have to worry about that because you only have to answer to yourself if something goes wrong. However a kit that is reproduced for the public is a much bigger responsibility.
ITs so easy to talk the talk....but its a much different story to walk the walk. I am sure that all these people who keep promising kits are discovering a whole new song and dance when the go to actually make the kit and thats why delivery is so difficult. IF it was as easy as the discussions done on the forums here, Supercharger and Turbo charger companies out there would have already been done and made a kit... but the truth of the matter is that to them its not worth the hassle...because its not as easy as it sounds.
Regardless of the challenges, I for one can say with confidence that there will be an ATI procharger kit available to 3.8 RWD Fbodies... it may take some time...but it will be done.
Here is a very important lesson i've learned from this whole thing. You can never have QUICK, QUALITY, AND CHEAP all in the same sentence.
If you want quality quickly it ain't going to be cheap. If you want something quick really cheap, its not going to have any quality. If you want something of quality very cheap, its going to take time. Thats just a fact of life...
Now if you manage to make a product that everyone wants quickly, cheaply, and with quality... then i say to you... quit your job, get off that butt, and start selling it cause you have found the perfect product and your on your way to becoming a very wealthy person.- Ryan<br /> A.K.A BATMAN<br /> \"Be part of the solution...<br /> Not the problem\"

everyone says they will come thorugh with it till they dive into it :D
I have mine done and I would like to produce a kit, just haven't had time to actually do it yet.
eventually I'll get around to it , if its still worth it in the future ;)
3.8 kit is in the works too ;)
