well like it says, under full throttle sometimes my car falls flat on its face and will backfire so I stuck it on my cousines Auto Tap and the only thing that really stands out is Cycles of Cylinder Misfire but I have no idea what that is, or why my car is running rich

Either get a wideband or put it on a dyno.Matt

Not necessary. Read the O2's on autotap. I was able to tune my a/f ratio that way with an adjustable FMU. I sent you mail...2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph

Is your car starting to perform worse in this hotter weather than it did a few months ago?
Please add some info on your car in your sig so that I can remember who you are and what you have. Or maybe even start one of those free cardomain websites so that you can list EVERYTHING about your car...(6 psi powerdyne, ngk tr6 plugs at .035, cold air intake, 6/1 fmu, bov, PCV block with breather, timing retard set at 2...etc.)
If you have more access to the auto tap you can also try switching your coil packs around to see if the missfires happen with certain coil packs.
just because you ARE rich while under boost does not mean that performance will suffer. If the engine is TOOOOOO rich then yes...problems can occur such as the WET A/F ratio not burning...causing a missfire...causing the computer to tune down the engine.
What does your fuel pressure read at idle as compared to full boost? my car goes from 47 to 86 psi.

ok as far as my gauge it always reads 50 no matter what so i sent it in and am waiting to get a new one form them, and for it running rich I know it is because at idle my O2's are reading 900-1000 at idle of 800RPM but the funny thing is that it has just started happening about 3 weeks ago and worked fine since I installed it in March
and even now it will run fine sometimes and then shut it off and then it will run like crap @ WOT but it only seems to happen at WOT or so I notice it the most
I have everytihing up top that you said up top except the CAI plus Flowmaster headers, CAT bypass, into magnaflow exhaust for performance
Also when we were messing with the timing when it was on the AutoTap it never moved when I would turn the dial would always stay at (i beleive) 35degreeshttp://www.cardomain.com/profile/blackfbird_98

the TRC only changes timing when the car is under boost. do you mean that you made test runs under boost while you were making changes on the trc dial?

have you scanned to see if your front 02 sensors are in good shape? you said this problem just started happening....but it was fine before....so this is why i don't think you need tuning software or an adjustable FMU if things USED TO BE good.

As far as the TRC I kinda wondered about that but wasn't sure if it had to be under boost.
the only thing I have had it on was the Auto Tap scanning software which is where I find that I am running rich so then I pulled a spark plug out,but I didnt throw any codes on the software.
I am kinda wondering if it is the 02 sensors since it only does it every now and thenhttp://www.cardomain.com/profile/blackfbird_98

yea, thats really accurate....

thats deffinately a very bad way to tune a force induction car. :(

But then, what do we know? We're not the one with the super fast sponsored cars. :rolleyes:Matt

Well, first of all... the car is falling on it's face at idle with the readings that you sent. If you do what I suggested, I guarantee it WILL HELP. Been there, seen that. Another extremely important factor is that TR6. What is it set at?? The a/f ratio along with the timing need to be adjusted. If you do not correct the problem, you'll continue to hurt the motor. Going to a dyno, though, and having someone rip you off while beating the p!ss out of your car and probably not being able to tune it correctly anyway, is not necessary (or what I'd suggest) when you have the means via Autotap to do some readings and correct the problem yourself. But you can decide for yourself exactly what you want to do.2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph

This almost sounds like a 'tuning' flame war concerning the stock 02 sensors and the A/F ratio. I would like to mention in case it has been missed by anyone in this thread that the use of the auto tap to read the engines a/f ratio on stock sensors is for 'general' FMU ratio calibration if an adjustable fmu was present...not for advanced tuning with software based 'ultimate' a/f ratio settings. The stock 02 settings do work or else the cars would all melt down after just a few full throttle runs.
