The TH350 will fit as well as the TH400. You just have to get a BOP bellhousing....(Buick, Olds, Pontiac). The TH400 is by far the strongest tranny that GM made. Search hotrod magazines for trannies, they did a lot of articles on 'em. As for GN's in the 9's and 10's, no prob...more boost. There was a sight put up a while back about a guy that shoe-horned a GN 6 in a firebird. Stock motor, more boost. You can do that by an adjustable wastegate.

Not much confidence there?? Anyway, I did recommend an 8.5" rear. Some GNs and Ts came with 8.5" rears (I think) but most of them had 7.5" rears. You don't need 10s to turn a 15 year old 7.5" into jello. As for him not running 10s, why don't you think it's possible? Keep in mind that his car weighs about half a ton less than a Buick G body.

Does the buick block fit in a firebird without modifications to the engine mounting locations? Isnt the engine swap technically illegal since its an older motor in a newer car?1997 Red GTP Coupe<br />Borla,3\" DP,!ubend,Thrasher CAI,Magnuson(3.4\"),1.9 roller rockers,Tran.
