Yeah the bracket is very close to the oil filter. But if you have it nice and tight it shouldn't be hitting it at all.
My only problem is that getting that nut off when I want to remove the SC.
What kind of filter are you using. I'm using the K&N oil filter, which is smaller than some oil filter product.

I am thinking about the powerdyne unit, but I have some reservtions/questions about it.
The guys at tbyrne told me it produces 6 psi of boost, and around 100 horsepower. Is this accurate? i know its a centrifugal SC, so its more efficient than a roots type blower, which is on the Grand prix and only produces about 40 hp more.
Second, they told me that the engine required no modification, no rebuilding, no reinforceing, that the powerdyne unit is a straight bolt on. Is this also true? Im worried about blowing my engine!?!?!
Third, can someone scan in and mail me a copy of the install directions? I want to see how much work Im going to have to do before putting this thing in. Thanks in advance.Property of Dave Hamburger

That a misinformation about the 6 producing 100hp. Unless if you are well modded, the SC will act more synergistic. But with the 9lbs you see more than 100hp.
The 6lbs is safe. Through my experience it is the best level of boost for our engine without any internal work to the engine. If you go hig

Looks like Thor got cut off. Loki back in town? Or did you let go of the hammer for more than sixty seconds? (Comic book geek joke...)
Anyway, the 6 pounds is safe on a stock engine. It won't quite give you 100 horsepower unless you have other mods like headers, full exhaust, etc. People with the 6psi seem to make high thirteens/low fourteens in the quarter, about equivalent to stock LT1 times.
A smaller (9psi) pulley will theoretically give you over 100 horses, but people (such as Shirl) who have tried it say that it slips so badly you will probably wind up with LESS power than the 6.
Shirl added a mild nitrous system as an intercooler and is now running 12's. I THINK she is still on stock internals, but I'm not sure.

LOL..I love Loki and the warrior three but I hate Odin. Yeah been collecting Thor for over 20 years but I've been off and on.
Anyway, when James Bawkey was making a protocol with the PD, he used a stock 95 Camaro that's in Florida now and he successfully got over 100 hp with the 9lbs. He later told me that was because the belt was new and it grip well. But over time it started slipping more and more. Not only that, he told me that he keeps poping the oil dipstick. He also notice that it made the engine keeps leaking oil from all sorts of place and it fouls up the plug alot faster too.
Shirl, has a stock motor and she is using a 6lbs and a 75 shot of N2O. Now imagine if she gets a cam and ported heads. She would easily be a 11 sec. V6.

I've got a copy of the install instructions that Mcaanda wrote in .PDF format . It's on my laptop so give me a day or two and I'll email it to you. I think I downloaded it from his website, but it doesn't seem to be up anymore.~Derrick My Webpage
\'96 3.8L V6 M5 Firebird Y87 | 162.8 RWHP / 196.7 RWTQ
• SLP CAI • Y87 Package - 3.23s • 180º thermo w/ fan switch • TB spacer from DEE
1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4x4

It is a very safe unit. I would buy one in a heartbeat if it was like $1800 or so. $4000 for that kinda HP is not a good ratio. I preffer a SC than a cam any day. It's a lot better for a daily driver but to each his own.
