....run on stock 3.4 (17lb) injectors until the next round of Megasquirt untis are released (2-3wks)??? I have to break in my motor still so I won't be getting on the throttle or loading down the boost anytime soon. I just want to make sure that I won't hurt anything running the stock injectors for a week or two. I plan on increasing the fuel PSI and I already have a walbro 255 pump installed. When I hook up the MS system I plan to run 60lb injectors

well if you go from the stock fuel pressure on the 17#s to 65psi then that'll be like having somewhere around 20.5# injectors. Dump 5psi boost on top of that and your fuel pressure will have to bump up to 70psi to keep the same pressure differential and thus the same flow of ~20.5#. So if you feel safe running ~20# injectors with 5psi boost...(this is assuming your AFPR can handle pressures that high)
Just for comparison I ran with a megasquirt with 24# injectors set at ~50-60 psi which gave me ~27# injectors. I ran 10psi and the duty cycles got pretty high but nothing ever blew up
I have since switched them out for 36# injectors running at stock pressure. This is all without a FMU and running megasquirt.
I'm assuming you're waiting for MS-II and the V3.0 board? If you're not waiting for the V3.0 board then you could build the V2.2 board now and run the regular megasquirt(which is what I'm doing but running different code) and then pop in the MS-II when they restock. I probably won't be switching to MS-II but that's just becasue I have what I need with my current setup.
ya i'm waiting for MSII, basicly so I have some timing control b/c I'm going to need it with the amount of boost i plan to run.

I'm actually running MS-I and I have full control over fuel and timing. I'm using a seperate crank trigger and a EDIS-6 control module that megasquirt controls.
To my knowledge even MS-II isn't compleatly setup to run our GM V6 DIS systems. It's not a hardware limitation but it's a matter of software not being compleatly written for it and tested with our DIS systems.
thanks for the links...most of it is greek to me tho lol
ben: are u buying the parts seperate and building it yourself or are u buying a pre assembled kit?
im probably gonna go with the custom preassembled kit when i get mine
i'm going with a already made almost "idoiot proof" kit. i'm with you as in not understanding all the terms and what nots. I spoke with Lance at megasquirt and he told me that MSII would be able to control our DIS system, so i dunno

Yea...the most important thing to take away from those posts is they are saying it should work in "theory"...
I wouldn't expect a GM DIS implimentation using megasquirt to go smoothly unless someone has acutally done it on a system just like ours and gotten it working well...
so if MSII doesn't work out on my 3.4 how should i go about adjusting timing? with the amount of boost i plan to running i am REALLY going to have away to adjust timing.

All the hardware should be there to control it. It's just that no one has written the code specifically for it. Until some ambitious person takes it upon themselves to get it worked out then it's just all theory.
There has been talk that the MS-II should be able to control our DIS systems in the same way it controls GM 7-pin HEI (electronic distributors) systems. It's just a matter of someone hooking it up and seeing if it works...
MS-II will be able to control timing...it's just a matter of time...
i would be willing to test it out but i have no clue whats so ever as how to write the code needed to adjust the timing. i mean i'm willing to pay someone to figure it out b/c I NEED to be able to adjust my timing.
