My kit came with a BOV, and I was wondering if I really need it. (It's welded to the ouput tube) I have an automatic, and with the gear swap, it always starts working when I let off the gas from 40+ MPH on down. If I am crusing in 3rd, it stays on. Greyman had mentioned it to me before, but I lost the thread it was in and can't remember. Oh, and with the headers on my car really woke up. I just can't seem to get any power off the line. Maybe a cam or something? I can't WOT off the line, I have to ease into it, then mash it. Any suggestions? I still can't find anyone in FL. to do a tune on it.

you dont NEED a bov only running 6 psi..but..they sound cool haha..so i had the turboxs type-s on mine and really liked it..as for the low end power..the powerdynes are supposed to start making boost around 1800 rpms..mine rocked off the line..so i dont know..maybe your blower is having trouble making low end boost or it could be a timing issue12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO
www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com
Best ET: 12.82@103
Best MPH: 104.7
Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC

quote:
Originally posted by Shodown:
1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said.

Well, for some reason, after the header install, I am getting 70 psi under boost. But as stated above it does not pull until about 3,100 RPM on up. It does run much better with the sc then w/o. I disconnected it a week or so ago, and put it right back on It's wierd with my FMU. When it kicks in it will stay around 70 for awhile, and if I stay out of boost it then settles down to about 54. Sometimes it goes to 70 sometimes not. But it all seems well and good. The headers made a big difference in the performance of the sc. The engine revs faster, and seems to pull better. I still seem to loose alot of torque in second gear. I am not sure if it is a big ratio difference than first, but it sure is a big power robber. I have a shift kit, but it's not installed yet. I am hooked back into the stock air intake location due to the rain here in Fl. I did the same mod as posted on Greymans site. Works great, and looks factory. I haven't shaved the ribs off the lid yet though. I opened up the bottom of the box, but I havent cut the plastic over the radiator, or condesor, whichever it is under there. I love the rear end and gears, it feels really solid. But, as of yet, I can't get the tires to spin off the line. I can't do a WOT launch, it kinda falls on its face. I go half throttle, then mash it. The car cooperates better if I do it that way. I still can't find anyone in Fl. with HP tuners, or a Dyno shop that has V6 software, so I have to wait on that. I am going to a 9 lb pully sometime in the near future. I can only get 4 out of this pully. If I get my belt tight enough, my ac compressor really makes a racket. So I figrure maybe 6-7lbs out of the 9lb pully as it sits. I do have the John_D wrap. I smashed in one of the factory pullies with the c clamp, and had two from the install, so I swapped it out. I put a plastic ribbed one in the idler position on the install.

i use to be on the same boat as you jess, once you get your car dyno tuned and fix the kinks you will be happy, what is happaning i think is the car boggs down off full throttle take off, its all in the comp. atleast im sure some of it is,once they do the traction control shut off and adjust other ratios and sensors you will be were you want. i no when i get my 9 psi im going up to 3:73's or 4:10 gears sux cuz i just put my 3:42's in a month ago. im doing this just to give me the better kick off the line.to all the ricers...the mountain dew bottle in my hand has more liters then ur car.
\"My baby is built with tools..not chopsticks\"

he just reminded me of something...
do you have traction control on your car? I don't. some do.
if you have it there is a switch for it.
i am not talking about torque managment but rather the official factory option of 'traction control.'
if you have it turn it off and go for a ride.

70 PSI FUEL PRESSURE.....not boost. 70 lbs of boost and the front of the car would be gone.
No, I don't have traction control. Saved me a headache looking for a rear end.Jessica :)
Kansas: There\'s no place like home...99 Firebird Blown/6lbs, Eaton w/3.42\'s CI headers Z28 Exaust
CAI, #36 injectors Intense PCM

maybe it is tiime for you to clean the fuel injectors. it is a good idea anyway since you have 50,000 miles on the car. do a seach on 'seafoam'...I think that is what most people use.
it gets SLOWLY poured into the fat 3/4" brake booster vac line..not into the brake booster but into the intake manifold...while the car is running. there are directions on the bottle and here on this forum...gentech.
if your injectors are dirty...weird stuff would happen with car.
