About a year ago I changed my gears from 3.08 to 3.42. Shortly after I installed my powerdyne.
Since my speedometer is busted anyways....I always just use my GPS system to let me know how fast Im going. So I never worried about my speed being off.
I recently went to a dyno and found out that my third gear wont go past 95 mph and 4800 rpm's.I will hit the speed limiter at this speed.
Then people started telling me that there car wont change to third gear till atleast 75 mph. Mine changes to third around 60-65 mph.
Also the thing that bought this to my concern the most was the fact that another person with a powerdyne says that his powerdyne gives him 10 psi in all 3 gears. Mine only gives me 10 psi in first and second with 3rd gear seeming to just die on me at a sluggish 5 psi.
So my questions to you are ......
At what mph dose your car change to third?
If you have a powerdyne dose your car maintain the same boost through all 3 gears?
Dose changing your gears also affect your rpm's?
What Im guessing is that since I changed my gears from 3.08 to 3.42, but didnt touch my pcm....My speedometer is saying 75 mph(remember it's busted so I dont know what it's saying) when my car is really only doing 60 mph and changing gears to low in the rpm range. Second gear is strong enough to still get me 91/2 pounds instead of the 10 pounds I saw in first gear, but 3rd gear is just way to low in the rpm range and has to build from so low of rpm's that it barely gets 5 psi before I hit the speed limiter at 95 mph(once again it hits the speed limiter so low because the speedometer beleaves that Im actualy doing 118 mph).
I would appreciate any opinions on this. I think this is the problem with my boost in third, but I want to be sure before I shell out $400 to ZZP for a custom PCM.
THANKS
