dont know if many of you guys have learned this by now. But i have been told that when you do forced induction you need to take your catalytic conver off and straight pipe..i blew the filter/porcelan in mine sideways and my car was running horribly cause the exahust was basically jammed inside, now that its straight piped the thing rides like a bat out of hell.....INFORMATION REGARDING THE REMOVAL OF CATALYTIC CONVERTOR GIVEN TO ME BY KRC PERFORMANCE..A SHOP THAT IS WELL KNOWN IN FLORIDA FOR ITS SUPERCHARGING WORK. it just makes sense,,think about it. LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS.

Well great, I just had a freeflow cat welded on. Kinda stuck with it now. I would have to get a fly by night muffler shop, or know someone who welds to put a straight pipe in. Beings its a 20,000 fine or something like that. My sc is doing better with the headers thoJessica :)
Kansas: There\'s no place like home...99 Firebird Blown/6lbs, Eaton w/3.42\'s CI headers Z28 Exaust
CAI, #36 injectors Intense PCM

yeah the stock one sucked..but a 3 inch or larger high flow one should be ok12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO
www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com
Best ET: 12.82@103
Best MPH: 104.7
Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC

quote:
Originally posted by Shodown:
1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said.

ya i hear what you guys are saying, sux for you in Cali. brother, damn you pollution control activists. but the way i see it, just having a Catalytic Convertor being hi-flow or stock still causes some restriction. straight pipe is the way to go (with forced induction that is), you wanna keep your exhasut system as free flowing as possible. just telling you my opinion, i can see what mighty thor, were your coming from, all im saying if you took it off you would notice a gain in power and a throatier exhaust note.to all the ricers...the mountain dew bottle in my hand has more liters then ur car.
\"My baby is built with tools..not chopsticks\"

High Flow cats are just as effective, and much cleaner. You need to have a little backpressure in there to make power. Not sure which sounds better, but I can say a hollowed cat sounds like a raspy tin can ready to explode. Maybe the straight pipe sounds decent, though. Just fyi, I'd be careful about posting the name of the place that hollowed your cat. It's a $10,000 federal fine and if the wrong person sees this, you're going to screw them and yourself. Also, not to be a nudge, but you need to show your email address.2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph

ya im working on my email, but i work for the state and they would prolly give me crap over misuse of it other then work---for the record krc is a supercharging performance shop all they gave me was ADVISE NO WORK DONE...they dont touch mufflers/exhaust...another shop did so. i understand what ur saying bout the whole little backpressure i guess it just comes down to personal opinion, on top end in my opinion the higher flow possible works best, but thats my opinion im not forcing anyone to do what ive done. thanx guys.to all the ricers...the mountain dew bottle in my hand has more liters then ur car.
\"My baby is built with tools..not chopsticks\"
