  • specs on a turbo....TD05 14b out of a Older DSM

so any one know the specs on them, how would one say they perform on a 3.4L not going any higher then 9 psi?

Will it be able to spool up semi easlily to that much boost without too much trouble.

This is all assuming fuel, and motor upgraded to handle it.

Assuming that's the stock turbo, and I believe it is, you would have no trouble spooling up quickly to any boost the turbo is capable of pushing, considering it was used on an 1.8L (2.0L?) car. It would also almost certainly run out of juice after 3500 rpm or so- that's just my prediction from the research I've done.

Now if we're not talking about the same turbo, that's a different story.

How much airflow can that turbo generate though. You can generate all the boost in the world, but if you don't have the airflow to back it up you're not gonna have any power.

No it will definately produce power, it's a good turbo, capable of up to 17PSI, just definately will poof out before the end of your RPM range.

I believe it's the same turbos I have sitting here that I will be using for my twins setup, stock off 1G and 2G Turbo DSM's.. also named the Garrett T25.

If single I would DEFINATELY opt for the biggest T3- .63 A/R or one of the smaller T3/T4 hybrids.

You will fry that turbo if used in a single turbo set-up.

Think it woudl be decent for a twin setup, ever since I had my 2.8l and was planning a 3.4L swap I have een thinking of a twin setup.

just thinking because there is a good deal locally.

Are the eclipses 2.0L or 1.8L? Typically for things like this... you want to see what turbo cars with an engine displacement of about 1/2 of yours uses, if you plan on using a twin setup.

The stock gen 1 DSM turbos work perfectly for twin turbo setup. The compressor maps work out perfectly for around 15 psi.

There are t-3/t-4's out there that you can get cheap. You'll need one of those compared to two t-25's, so just make sure you wiegh that in.

Two T-25's would be faster, due to less lag, less heat damage to the turbo, and better flow with true dual.
